I don't remember which member it is here but they're doing a French Citroen. Find a Rolls Royce or a MB maybe. There used to be a real nice Volvo Shooting Brake (wagon to us) kit. Hillmen Minx or a Morris Minor maybe?

Tiger Paw Yellow Stripe Tires
espo replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The H78x15 was the way they stated the tires size at that time. The H designated approximately the older 7.60 size and the 78 was what they call the aspect ratio between the tire width and the sidewall height. The tire tread is 78% of the sidewall height. -
Great looking paint work and clean trim. The interior gives a nice contrast to the body color.

Successful execution of my first ever car facelift - Tamiya 99 WRX

I see what you mean about the body panels lining up. Wish that they had offered a two door Suby here. The paint looks great with the blue accents. -
Great looking colors and trim still look new.

Great looking conversion could have put three blowers on it. Like the detailing on the interior.

'57 El Nomado
espo replied to customline's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great build idea, especially for a kit that some goofy body proportions anyway. Like your approach to the roof. Your well into that now but wonder if the El Camino roof section from an old AMT '55 Nomad might have been an option for this. -
I also think the wheels really add to the look of this Mustang.

Start with an 800 grit and work your way up. I have noticed that some of my Tamiya paints, regardless of color, seem to get a little unpredictable when they have set around with maybe 1/4 of the paint still present.

Good idea except when these tires were made, I don't think date codes were required. -
Tips for attaching aftermarket wheels
espo replied to atomicholiday's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Over time I have purchased several different size Wire Nails or Brads at Home Depot to use for mounting wheels on a model. From the most used size, #15x1 1/2, #16x1 1/4 and #17x3/4 length. I even have some #18x3/4 but haven't had to use them that often. They come in small plastic containers and are usually sold based on weight, so they are really inexpensive. You will need a large wire cutter type of plyers to cut to length. -
Depending on the size of can and manufacturer of paint, you might want to pick up and extra can of each color.

53 studebaker comino
espo replied to damodelguy phx az's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I like how the body designs of the Studebaker and the El Camino flow together. The Studebaker rear wheel openings look much better. Great looking colors and trim. -
Beautiful looking paint color and finishes. I always thought the enclosed trailer should have an engine and interior of its own.
-
Great looking stance and the colors still look fresh in this.

Beautiful looking paint work and finish. Like the paint design. The chassis and interior in this kit show just how far things have come in the last 50 plus years of model kits. Still looks good with a little extra effort on the chassis and interior.
-
Great looking paint work and colors. The trim is all cleanly done.

Great looking Malibu SS. The paint color looks great, much like the light metallic blue that Chevrolet offered at that time. Like the stock showroom look.
-
Beautiful looking paint and interior finishes. Nicely detailed engine. Even like the period wide white walls.
-
The body enhancements to the front end, hood, open door and trunk all look great. The paint is very smooth and like the color. The interior has a nice contrast to the body color. The chassis work is a model all by itself.

Looks like the Tim Worm has been chewing on the lower extremities. -
We share your Rabbit infestation issues. My wife is getting closer to letting me end them if they get into her flowers in the front planter again. My problem is the close proximity to the golf cart trail by our house limits my hunting times.
