A very nice looking rust bucket. You mentioned the '37 hood on the '36 body and radiator shell. How hard was it to match up ?

Might it not be easier to widen the '37 hood to meet the fire wall ? You might have to alter the hood side panels, but it just seems that all might be an easier way to get the two different bodies the meet. -

Beautiful build, it looks like you're going to need snow tires for that

Perfect weathering and distress. Just looks so real, needs its own diorama setting. Sad to think how many wound up looking just like this when their track days were over.

Beautiful build. In my mind this is the most iconic Mercedes ever. I was about 10 when I first saw one and thought it was a space ship it was that radical for the time.

Great looking body. Combining an early '50's truck cab to a '57 Chevy body and making it look right is really something.

Always enjoy your VW builds. Haven't seen a convertible done in a long time. I was not aware of the Tamiya Panel line paint. I'll have to get some of that. The paint really polishes out nice. Interior looks dead on.

Looks like a great save on this Cobra. I noticed the new AMT Polyglass tires. If it is in the budget or if is even of interest AMT also has a set of Goodyear "Blue Streak" slicks. They would look very much like the tires used for the more track oriented build. They have the raised white Goodyear lettering with a blue circle and no tread pattern on the tires. They are listed as 9.00-15 size, with a lite scuff on the tread they would look just like track tires.

Great group of '32's. Built in many different styles, they all look great.

You have done a great job on the trim moldings. They look spot on. Look forward to your build. I have owned two 1:1 C10s a '74 and a '79 and loved them both.- 20 replies

The top looks perfect. If their Flares and Bumpers look as good I'll be a buyer. -
I like the pedestrian theme of the Plymouth and the Ford really looks period perfect.

I just got this same kit last week, so I'll be interested in how your build progresses. I'm in this era as it were right now and finishing the '48 Ford Police Coupe.

One consideration for the body may be the AMT '41 Ford Woody for the basic body. The differences would be in the shape of the A pillar and the shape of the rear fender/body area. The suggested '37 Ford would give you the front end you need and offer an updated chassis. Scale Motor Sport offers upholstery patterns and Carbon Fiber decals to use on the body. This would be a great build. -
Beautiful builds. I really like the '59 El Camino, but the Merc. woody is very nice.
-
Considering what you had to work with it turned out very nice. Lindberg was not a very accurate kit maker in the early years.
-
Nice clean build. I like the engine choice, but what engine is it ? Most six cylinders that I'm familiar with have the intake/exhaust on the drivers side.
-
Nice home built rear coil springs. I like Malibu's so I'll keep an eye on this build.

The peaked headlights you are using should look great. The side view of the prototype looks almost like the headlights from a '55 Chevrolet or even a Chevy pickup even the parking lamps. That's just my impression. I really like the concept you seem to be going for. The sedan delivery suggestion would be interesting also. Your copped top and lowered stance is perfect. What type of driveline are you thinking of ? Any interior ideas yet ?

Sorry for not getting back to you on the magazine, I didn't get to go by the model shop until today 12/21. They still have no idea when the next issue may be coming. If I see something next week i'll try to give you an update.

James. Has this project stalled out ? Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Great looking Fiat. In my youth I attended many drag racing events in SoCal. and for every shinny painted big sponsored cars there was just as many that looked just like this.

More completed builds... Hope your not sick of my post

They all look great. I enjoy your build style. Now if you could just make that Camaro a 1:1 and hand me the keys all would be well.
