Still some body work going on.......... It being 'big scale' just means the sink marks and mold lines are larger! There's some really bad areas in the coves on the fenders. Low spots from where the hinge bulkhead was molded into the inside. I'm going to try the 'prime sand prime' method to fix them. I've started that on the trough along the hood that I showed earlier...... That's what's going on right now! I'm working on the frame and such behind the scenes also........

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?

Is that a doggo in the Bug? -

There's gonna be a big bash and some concerts celebrating Maynard's 60th birthday......... I believe in the spring sometime.....

Doing some flat sanding on the body parts........ There's a bit of a trough along the trailing edge of the hood. It was around the whole perimeter, but I've managed to remove most of it..... May have to just prime and sand until it's level.

I've heard of folks doing that, may have to try it myself....... Anyone ever put soda in their mix? Like Coca-Cola or Pepsi?

Hey, guys! It's obviously the time of year for things like soups, stews, and chili! I love me some chili, but my tired old recipe is kinda boring....... I just use a pound of ground beef seasoned with season salt, a can of Chili Magic, and a can of RoTel. Usually I eat it with corn chips, maybe some sour cream, and sometimes cheese. I'm posting this in hopes you guys will pass down some ideas for a better and more interesting chili. I know a lot of guys would rather not tell your secret ingredients, but those who don't mind........... What do you put in your chili?

Just a little progress to show......... I mainly wanted to show y'all, and maybe get some opinions, on the tan color I'll be using for the underside where it would be raw fiberglass..... Will it do a good job representing that? also sprayed the engine bay with Rustoleum canyon black........ The tan is Desert Sand vinyl dye from DupliColor...... I just primed the part and sprayed it like paint.

Beholder, or torch holder?

They just might be the redeeming factor of this build! LoL As promised, some finished engine pics! I got in a hurry and forgot the oil fill tube, need to add that........ I guess it's on to suspension and chassis! I need to start prepping the body also........ Especially if I'm to paint this thing black, I need the prep work to be perfect! Thanks for looking in guys, and for any comments..........

1/16 MPC '57 Corvette..... decent kit?
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I believe this kit might have had whitewalls, just not this version........ I'm not 100% sure, but the release without the electrical parts may have them.... -
They say only happy, healthy pups do zoomies...... You must be doing right by them.

Six bucks for a bag of Ruffles potato chips....... That's out-ridges!

Bench warmer was usually the position played by 'yours truly' when it was time for school sports activities........

Laugh all you want at how I'm dressed, but know that plaid bell bottom polyester leisure suits are making a come-back!

It's a handsome combo on these cars........... Have you thought about an interior color? Blue would look nice, I bet!
-
Carl, they're really gonna give this build something special, I think!
-
Trying to make a little progress on the interior..... The kit comes with a sheet of felt to simulate carpet. You have to cut out the patterns from the instruction booklet...... I didn't want to cut up the booklet, so I stuck it to the storm door and put some drawing paper over it. That way I could trace the patterns and not harm the instructions....... Also taking care of the mold lines on the seats. I'll be using a vinyl dye for the major interior parts. That's it for now!
