  1. Great story. I wonder when or ii its been restored . Looks like she is walking into a retirement facility ( aka no garage ) would love to know more behind the scenes
  2. Ive already got one of the MK issues, But odds are I'll grab at least one, maybe 2 of these newer issues
  3. Biggest thing for me is when I got away from massive amounts of detail. Ive had models take over a year to build. And at my age now, that is simply not an option anymore if I want to make any kind of mark on my pile. I try my best to make them look VERY presentable in my case . I don't do contests so the only one I have to please is me As far as paint choices, I 'll use what ever brand has the color I am after. Testors , Tamiya, Duplicolor are my main three . And I prefer lacquer if at all possible. Testors wetlook clear is my primary top coat followed real close by Upol urethane clear. But I use Tamiya and duplicolor clears as well, Just depends on what I have avail at the time. The best advise I ever had offered to me ,,,,,,,, take your time and enjoy the ride.
  4. I did his 68 Charger and I think the paint was Testors Revving red.
  5. Bar NONE. the best model in any scale I have ever seen. Truly enjoyed the time spent watching it come together
  6. I'm sure you will make the right decision. But I agree if your sure you will never build it, either pay it forward or trade for something you will build. On a similar note a couple years ago a good friend of mine gave me a sealed Ramchargers Challenger funny car. ( broke the outside seal but it remains sealed inside ) The car is not accurate to the 1/1 so odds I will will never build it. But would feel bad if I sold or traded it off. So it will stay on my shelf . My heirs can decide what to do with it someday later ,,,MUCH later I hope
  7. Agreed. I started one of the a few years ago. I think I used a color from tractor supply
  8. 14 inch wheels were the standard rim in 1970 even on hemi cars baseline tire would have been a Good year polyglas F70-14 ( hubcaps would have varied with how it was ordered.) would have been either raised white letter or 3/8" pinstripe white line if ordered with 15" it would have been Goodyear F60-15 raised white letter on a 15x7 rim ( black rim if equipped with full wheelcovers and body colored if the small beenie wheel covers) or rallys ( silver rim with a light argent center cap and polished trim ring ) NO redline tires avail on anything mopar in 1970
  9. I just made such a move. I sure don't envy you. We've been here maybe 3 or 4 weeks . And still unpacking boxes
  10. I believe Speed City Resin makes one Imo. Either speed city. Or comp resin will be better than good stuff BUT. me personally would take a snap kit cuda body and make my own
  11. 361 and 413 truck engines have a very different water pump system compared to pass cars engines. I dont know enough about them to say if the rest is different or not
  12. Its a cartoon. its any scale you want
  13. Only thing ive seen so far is box art. Any kit pics posted anywhere ?
  14. Yellow ? Never noticed that detail
  15. IMO, going to depend A LOT on just how nice this kit is in person. Take the revell 1970 Cuda kit as an example. IMO its done nothing to the value of the original MPC kit. ,,,built or unbuilt. My gut tells me this will be no different
  16. Problem with trying to repair that and NOT damage the windshield frame is going to be near impossible IMO< leave it alone
  17. got the email today. my order is about to ship
  18. Probably my oldest survivors Johan 1969 Roadrunner and I think the Monza is an old MPC kit ( not 100% sure though ) Both built sometime early to maybe mid 80s time frame The AMT Daytona was maybe mid 90s time frame
  19. My daughter built a Ramchargers car out of one I built the other one
  20. Snake I have NO idea the paint used on this. I bought it with plans to redo it. I just cant bring myself to take it apart.
  21. Ive got one of these . I bought exactly as you see it several years back. its one of my favorites even though I didn't build it. But I have no plans to ever redo it unless something major happens to it
  22. Nope, Not me. Ever that I can think of. And no real desire to
