  1. Another method http://modeltech.tripod.com/tint101.htm
  2. Art, are you using it out of the can or airbrushing it?
  3. This is the quote from the Scalefinishes website. "Scalefinishes colors are solvent based Acrylic Basecoats and require a clearcoat to achieve a gloss finish". If they're enamels, spraying lacquer clear over them won't yield good results. I've heard that TS13 is a little hot in relation to other hobby lacquer sprays.
  4. Great looking slingshot!
  5. I think if it will stand up to use on finger nails, it should be durable enough for a model car.
  6. Nice work! Personally, I like the Tamiya kits. The F1 cars do have a lot of small suspension parts and painting and decaling can be tedious.
  7. You can get it through eBay for 8.57 http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/331836934396?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true Walmart supposedly carries it too. It ain't cheap, but if it works well, it might be worth it.
  8. Has anyone tried this nail polish on styrene yet? There are several brands. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=nail+mirror+polish
  9. I love the color choices! What brand clear did you use?
  10. +1 Your work is great! Three cans does seem like a lot of paint.
  11. Clever idea! What are the colors that you used?
  12. You can get some idea of how much paint you have left by weighing the cans. The Tamiya and Model Master 3 oz. cans weigh 137 grams full and 62 grams when empty. The weight of paint and propellant is 75 grams which calculates to 25 grams/oz. The Tamiya primer cans are 5.4 oz. and weigh 210 grams full and 80 grams empty which calculates to 24 grams/oz. Not enough difference between the two so I just divide by 25 when checking how much is still in a can.
  13. The more I learn about 2 tone paint, the more I'm inclined to tackle the BRE Datsun 510 that's been stalled for a long time. Simple, why didn't I think of that?
  14. That color POPS! Nice build.
  15. That's a great paint job with a pretty tough color to use.
  16. Good job! I've built that one. It's tough. I'm also trying to finish the Watson Roadster and Lotus Ford that come in the Hall of Fame box. Hard builds.
  17. Harry, do you have a tutorial for hand brushing Future?
  18. Keep on truckin', Douglas. Opinions are like rear ends. Everyone has one and some stink.
  19. You can always use free software like PIXresizer
  20. Love all the small details and different posing of the figures. Day view, night view, welding, man it has it all. Nice job.
  21. A list of what you have would be helpful. If that's not legal here, then maybe a link.
  22. Is there a voice inside you saying "we sound like our English teachers and (sometimes) our parents". My inner voice says that, with a laugh, every time I read a post from someone that is written in what I call "iPhonenese". I think that's what you described so well. Add to that description, the use of 2 for to or too, r for are, u for you, etc.
  23. peter31a and Mr Buick, you guys hit the nail on the head! +1 to both of your posts.
  24. Thanks for that info Longbox55!
