TarheelRick Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 The Ollie's in Winston-Salem, NC had a good selection of the Coke Generals, a few Chevy II wagons, some Big-Rig Semi trailers, and some other assorted stuff. There was one 72 Chevy pickup, it had been opened; I took a quick peek inside, saw it was molded in red and put it back on the shelf. One of the Coke Generals and a Chevy II wagon left the store in my protective care.

It would be great if they kept getting restocks for a while of the kits they do get so the resellers wouldn't have as much of a market. I think we're already seeing that. Usually Ollie's kits get wiped out pretty quick, but seems like these have been lingering on the shelf. Be interesting to see how many Ollie's kits show up at Modelpalooza in Kissimmee in 3 weeks!

I would check this store again in a week or so but I think I've only got a couple of days left at this job where I pass the store. From my last post it's been almost a month since I last stopped there.

Mark Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 The Coca-Cola version of the Chevy pickup is molded in red. The Racer's Wedge version is all white. Ironically, the original MPC '71 Wedge kit was molded in red except for the ramp body which was white. So, by combining the two current issues you could piece one together with the same combination of red and white parts as the original.

Trade it off somewhere.
Dave Van Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Some stores are getting some Bandi SiFi figure kits in too if that is of interest. SW and GIJoe 1/12 scale

RSchnell Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 The Merritt Island, FL Ollie's kit selection looked like it was frozen in time from the photos I took last week. Nothing new and not much sold of existing stock. Where's all the resellers? LOL I even walked out of there empty handed!
Tabbysdaddy Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Checked the Hiawassee store again, most of the Rat Fink stuff was gone. They got some other stuff in but still no vans.
RocketFoot Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I got to get my ass to Ollie's! LOL! There is one about 12 miles from me but I haven't been there in years!

slusher Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Went by Ollie’s today semi trailers and snap kits only….
Oldriginal86 Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Finally found the models at my local store. Plenty of Coke Generals, Freuhauf trailers and 72 Chevy pickups. No Nova wagons. That’s what I was hoping to find.
Slotto Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 I popped into the Ollie's by the office after work yesterday. They had a few Caddy Ambulances, a few Semis, Chrysler Sebring slammers, 72 Chevy pickups, Black Beautys, Hot Wheels Camaros and Fifty Anniversary Camaros. I grabbed a Chevy Pickup
Dave Van Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Went to Matthews NC and picked 64 Ford which I had yet to find. Norm stuff otherwise
Robberbaron Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Merrillville, IN store is down to the dregs: about a half dozen Model T Depot Hacks, couple of the Revell snap kits, and some silly non-automotive junk. Actually, come to think of it, they did also have some semis/trailers on the bottom shelf too.
atomicholiday Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Fort Wayne store. Nothing I can’t live without. 1

Thanks for the update - I was going to be somewhat nearby tomorrow and considered stopping in…but I’ll give it a few weeks and see if they get a restock

THarrison351 Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 I'm so jealous. Wichita barely gets anything
