Chuck Most Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 For a while I've had this idea for a '60's-style show rod based on a Willys MB, and just recently finished it up. The body is a modified MPC jeep piece, set up on a Barris Ice Cream Truck chassis. The wheels and tires came from a Revell Thunderbolt, and the engine is a supercharged Ford Y-Block from the Revell '57 Ford stock car. I used the Edelbrock valve covers from the drag version of the wagon, and modified Rat Roaster exhaust. The Jerry can now serves as the fuel tank and the spare tire is from a Jeepster Commando.
Bernard Kron Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Cool! I like the stance and the wedge body shape.
bbowser Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Do you channel Ed Roth in your dreams? This is seriously cool!
Tom Geiger Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Interesting build! My seal of approval as an army brat!
Snake45 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I like this a LOT! I've wanted to do a Jeep Rod for a couple decades now, but wasn't sure quite how to pull it off. You've given me several good ideas! The only way yours could be better is if you had painted it Pontiac Verdoro Green, which I've always thought of as "Metallic Olive Drab." Very well done, and model on!
Dave Van Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 WOW I like that!!! I have one kinda like that based off a old drawing. Stalled....maybe yours will inspire!!!
Robberbaron Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Really diggin' this one too! I always enjoy your builds, but your Honda drag car and now this one are at a new elevation of awesome. Once again, this feels like something that truly could have been created for the sixties show circuit.
Sixties Sam Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Wow! Nice going, Chuck! That is really creative design work. I like how you put the front wheels forward and ran the headers out the stock front wheel wells. I would never have thought of that! Great work!Sam
1930fordpickup Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 (edited) Well done Chuck. Down at this corner of the State we all love the Jeep. Edited October 12, 2017 by 1930fordpickup
Foxer Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 We searched every Army Post in the area for a different shade of OD when we had to repaint a vehicle, but you found the Motherload!Very cool!
