cobraman Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Just finished this as if there may have been a real one . Used the old AMT Ranchero kit most of us may have built at one time . Painted Icy Blue with black stripes . Cobra parts from a Fujumi Cobra kit include engines, hood scoop and wheels and tires . Side pipes from parts box and bed cover with spoiler made from sheet plastic . Just a few little touches to finish .
shoopdog Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Really nice, I like your painted bumpers and blacked out grill.
cobraman Posted July 17, 2019 Author Posted July 17, 2019 Thanks guys. Ralph, this is a simple kit and I didn't do much extra so it didn't take too long. Add the fact that I am retired I have lots of time to build. I will be taking a break from building for a month or so. I should also add it was 114 out today so I am stuck inside so building is a good option of something to do.
Modlbldr Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Looks great! I like the simplicity of it. I have this kit as a rebuilder and have never done anything with it because I don't like the looks of it. You have managed to change my mind and have given me a few ideas for it. I may have to throw something like this together with it someday for a quicky build. Later-

Cpt Tuttle Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Well executed idea, maybe the monochromatic look ain't my taste and if it was my build I think I would have had some chrome as a contrast to the blue, but that's completely a matter of taste and it's a great build anyway!
TarheelRick Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Good looking Ranchero, really like the Shelby relationship. I also have a couple of these and some various parts of others in my stash, plans for all of them some of these days.

I too am retired, (disabled) and I seem to have tons of time, but I also have modelers add. I have about 7 things all in various stages of assembly and disrepair. I learn a lot watching you all on this board. Lots of neat tips and tricks that seem so simple once you do em.. Keep gluing!!
TooOld Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 Great idea and very nicely done Ray ! That old Ranchero looks mighty good with a 427 and Cobra wheels !
