Vincent631 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Built these 4 kits for the L.I.A.R.S contest earlier this month. Very proud of my work and I have gotten lots of compliments on my tribute to Ed Roth!! I did not place in the contest. I'm just proud to say I built these!!! 1
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Very clean builds of some finicky kits....well done... -RRR
magicmustang Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Very good work on difficult kits. I have built three but am still leery of the Mysterion.
iBorg Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Clean builds of very challenging kits. Maybe they didn't win but they're still fantastic on the shelf.
Dennis Lacy Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Awesome fleet of Roth cars! They all look very well built so you should be proud. All I've ever done with these kits is cannibalize them for hot rod projects, haha!!
mrm Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 I can’t speak for the rest of them, but the Mysterion I have built in the past and to describe it as challenging, would be an understatement. Great job on a fine collection of significant show rods. You have two more to go.
alan barton Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Great to see all four together. I still have the Excalibur to build before I can complete my set. Well done! Cheers Alan
Mr.Zombie Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 I have all of them, so scared to start...
randyc Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 I went through a Roth period. I built the Outlaw, Beatnik Bandit, Beatnik Bandit 2. I have built the Tweedy Pie as one of the reissues that isn't Roth correct. I have a Road Agent but think parts are lost. Also have a Mysterion in the tin that I'll probably never get too. Nice little kits and tough to build nicely. Yours look great!
Tom Geiger Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Very nice work! As said, those were fiddly kits. Very hard to get a credible model from them! I'll offer up my Surfite to add to your set. I didn't bring it to Liars because I couldn't find the surf board. I built this one right after the kit was reissued. There was a lot of fit issues, lots of ejector pin and mold lines to clean up. I swore off any more Roth cars after this one!
Phildaupho Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 You should be proud. I always appreciate seeing built Roth models. You now have a great collection. I had an ambition to build them all and had the kits and a couple of books about Roth's creations. But I am sad to say I have built none. Have started a Bandit and determined to some day complete it as it is my all time favorite.
geemoney Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Excellent! Re-issues? If so, you did a MORE than MASTERFUL job!
Modlbldr Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Those are all beautiful builds! You did a great job on all of them. I built the Tweedy Pie this year but painted mine green. Great work! http:// Later-
RickRollerLT1 Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 After solving my login error screen issues, finally chimed in to (once again) say that it was a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH shame these didn't place at all at the LIARS show. OTOH, they do look real nice in person and viewing them on PNGs.
Spex84 Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Well done! None of those are easy kits to build, and yours look very well-sorted. I've only ever used them as parts donors for hot rod projects, never had the fortitude to try and build one box-stock!
spike morelli Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 (edited) Roth stuff! That man was so original in his time,...and even more so today. I have some of those car kits.....and these...Mother's Worry, Drag Nut, Mr.Gasser, and Rat Fink hisself. Edited March 15, 2020 by spike morelli
rustybill1960 Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Very nice builds and excellent choice of subjects Has me itching to dig out my Big Daddy Roth kits and start building Thank You for sharing
