Plowboy Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Finally wrapped this one up today. It's a kitbash with the Revell '57 Del Rio, an AMT '58 Edsel and Phantom Vickie. The Del Rio supplied the chassis, floor pan, cargo area, roof and glass. The Edsel provided the lower body, seats, door panels and dash. The Phantom Vickie provided the engine, transmission, wheels, tires and rearend. Paint is Tamiya Mica Silver and Mica Red on the body. Interior is Tamiya Dull Red and Primer Gray. Thanx for checking it out! 2

Bills72sj Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 It needs a little bigger front tires but THAT IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!
Phildaupho Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Great project which turned out fantasric. Looks better than the factory version with the boomerang taillights although they look good in elsewhere. Love the opening tailgate. Very good photography as well.
beeRS Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Just GORGEOUS! Very nice clean build and beautiful paint. That red looks like a candy paint. Did you have to do it over a silver base?
Modlbldr Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Roger, That looks fantastic! Nice melding of the two bodies for an unusual build. Great work. Later-
espo Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Beautiful looking build. Your body work blending the two kits looks perfect. The color combination and the finish looks great.

Did you have to do it over a silver base? Thanx! Yeah, I sprayed the Mica Red over Mica Silver. I've also shot it over Gold which makes it a little darker. Someday, I want to shoot it over a dark color like Gunmetal or Black.
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 That really came out great, beautiful kitbash! Paint job is lush.... -RRR
TarheelRick Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Who would have thought an Edsel could be called anything but ugly. Guess you proved them all wrong, that is one beautiful build. Your body work, paint, and everything about this build is spot on.

Plowboy Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 (edited) Thanx to everyone for all of the great comments! I appreciate them! I meant to add the interior photos earlier. But, I've been busy. I made a major flub by not removing the rear window cranks. I obviously wasn't thinking! By the time I realized it, it was too late. Edited June 12, 2020 by Plowboy
Flatout Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Nice looking wagon Roger! Great job splicing and dicing, love the paint and the engine choice. Very Cool?
