Plowboy Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 I built this one a few years ago. Back in the day, this was how just about every muscle car around here looked. Hi Jackers, M-50s, Cragars, headers and Cherry Bombs were the rule seemed like. If your car didn’t have those, you were out! So, I made sure I added all of those to this build. I also made a cowl hood scoop in the shape of the Buick shields to make it a little different. Other than those pieces, it's just a simple build. Paint is Tamiya Pure White. Thanx for checking it out!
Doug 1061 Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Nice. Nailed the period correct look. Right down to the yellow plug wires. You just weren't cool without them.
TooOld Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Beautifully done ! I had a couple cars set up just like this back the then , love the look !
AmericanMuscleFan Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Superb GSX Roger! Perfect stance too! White is not the sexiest color but I think it's absolutely perfect for this Buick, it's my favorite color option for the GSX. I love it!!!
1972coronet Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Beautiful Buick brawler ! Appears spot-on ; a wonderfully-executed period piece . Reminds me of the kinds of cars I'd see on Whittier Boulevard / Bob's Big Boy back in the 70's - c.1982 . I've always loved the stylling touches of the Buick A-bodies (right up there with Oldsmobiles of the same era) , and the 1970-1972 are prime examples ; your vision brings it home .
Bills72sj Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 I really like the changes you made. Jacked up on Cragars ?
Dragonhawk1066 Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Very nice! Definitely has that old school look.
espo Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 As others have mentioned, you got the time period perfectly. I like the clean white color on this. I had a '67 El Camino and a '72 Nova SS that both had the stink bug look. Thanks for the memories.
Classicgas Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Wow!! That is awesome. Just screams 70s street machine.
Plowboy Posted June 24, 2020 Author Posted June 24, 2020 Thanx to everyone for the great comments! I had plans of building the '70 Mustang, '70 Chevelle, '71 'Cuda and '69 Judge (all from Monogram) in the same style. I built the 'Cuda. But, I never got around to the rest of them.
