The issue is that there’s many more Coke collectors than fans of auto parts stores!

Maybe an Elvis refrigerator truck for food? He bulked up late career. Or a Coke BTTF Delorean. Huge collector markets. Buy kit, never build it. Like us, but can't build. :D

The Texaco one has been done, mostly.

The '41 Chevy P/U. I've got the kit.

I thought it was the '50 Chevy? Never bought one. So, not sure.

A "coke" Delorean could be considered a bit of a double entendre...

Hey, it can haul 5000# of crushed Lincoln, and lose it's whitewalls between the crush yard and the farm (Goldfinger) :D

My wife and I bought a 5th wheel camper last year. When looking for a tow vehicle I suggested a 64 Ranchero because it has a 5000# weight capacity. After she got done informing me on my lack intelligence I referred to Goldfinger. Then she informed me on my lack of wit.

'Sponsor' is not what is going on here......R2 is a licensee pf Coke or Hostess etc kits. R2 PAYS to make these kits and thus the brand needs to be popular and have a collector base. NAPA might not be 'collectible'.....

Among the differences:  the '23 T kits have multi-part frames and separate stock wheels and rubber tires.  (The '25 has one-piece plastic tires and wheels.)

That was true until about 1975. When AMT did the Street Rods issue of the 25 T kit (with a Coupe body only), they performed some reworking of the tool. Besides revising the custom taillights (for the worse IMHO) they deleted the chromed hubcaps (now hubcaps are molded to the new wheel) and made the wheel/tire assembly two piece with the separate 'rubber' tires. All AMT '25 T kits subsequent to that issue have the two piece tires. otherwise your review is correct.

The auto parts stores and auto parts manufacturers tend to go with diecasts, not kits.

And when they have something interesting I wait until the blow them out!

I see what you did there with the DeLorean!   Just as a heads-up:  the STARZ cable movie channel is currently running the 2018 movie "Driven," about the DeLorean debacle.  I watched it a couple of nights ago, it's pretty funny.  "You want the FBI to loan John DeLorean 2 million dollars, so we can arrest him?"

It also contains some good Car Porn, as you would expect.  Like the red '67 GTO that Jason Sudeikis drives.

Hate to spoil the illusion, but that Goldfinger Lincoln had no engine/transmission when it was crushed...

A few pounds off the old block, I'd say...

Those have been discussed extensively in other threads.  Wouldn’t be in this thread as those are supposed to be late 2020 releases.

Aren't those supposed to be out before the end of this year? (Assuming, of course, that we're not all killed by Murder Hornets or hit by the 2020 Meteor of Death....)

Guys....

Somewhere I thought I saw round2 re-releasing the 1/25 USA-1 monster truck, based on the Coca Cola monster truck kit, but can`t find it. Has anyone else seen this?

From the press release of USA-1 4x4 Inc.

USA-1 modeling fans,

I am very excited to be able to announce the new and updated release of the '88 National Champion USA-1 truck model. The kit is supposed to be released in December, 2020. Which would make a great Christmas gift! ( I'm a bit biased).

I am excited that this kit contains new features. Including an optional set of chrome rims! As well as an optional set of decals, the "Eagle" graphics from the Roger Gauger USA-1 race truck so a modeler can create a custom version of the ‘88 USA-1! As you can see the box art alone will make this a collector item.

• FEATURE PACKED: The USA-1 Chevy Silverado Monster Truck kit features details like supercharged engine, opening hood, 16 shock suspension, double rollbar with lights, gigantic monster truck tires and bonus chrome rim option. Kit also includes ALL-NEW remastered original and new style USA-1 decals.

I'm pretty sure they offered the chrome wheels in a previous issue, so I wouldn't necessarily call that a new feature.

Yep, there were a few years where the the chrome wheels and fender flares from the first Bigfoot kit were included in the USA-1 kit.

Now that I got my giggles out of the way....

1. The auto parts branding isn't a bad idea. Decals are cheap, and I'll bet NAPA or Advance would be willing to sell NAPA or Western Auto and Car Quest branded trucks and such (Advance, I believe now owns both Western Auto and Car Quest, and most of AMT's tooling predates the Advance branding).

2. I think it's time for new 1967-'72 Chevy/GMC trucks. The tooling for all of them are pretty messed up. The GMC stepside got ruined when they converted it to the '72, and I don't even know what happened to the rest of it. Moebius has proven that well-done trucks of that vintage will sell. Time to step up. That said, I might still grab one of these.
