Plowboy Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 (edited) I built this some years ago. It's the old AMT kit. I built it straight out of the box. Even used the junk two piece tires! I added the kit turbo and glass pack mufflers. The paint is Krylon Ocean Breeze on the body and Dupli Color Bahama Blue on the interior. Fun little kit out of the box even if it isn't all that accurate under the hood. Sometimes it's good to let go and not sweat the details. Just build them how they were meant to be. Thanx for checking it out! Edited October 10, 2020 by Plowboy
doorsovdoon Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 (edited) Love it. Been arguing with myself whether to get this kit, I think I've decided, yes! Nice colour. Edited October 9, 2020 by doorsovdoon
espo Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 Great looking Pinto. You mention this not being a very well detailed kit but with the way you painted and detailed this build it looks great.
Spottedlaurel Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 That looks like a fun little thing, almost cartoon-like!
cobraman Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Looks nice and the color looks good on it ! I bought a new Pinto in 72 and another in 78. Neither one ever blew up ! And the 72 was rear ended !
slusher Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Very sharp Pinto! My first car was a 76 Pinto...
TooOld Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Awesome little Pinto , they look great with big 'n' littles on them ! Out of box is perfect for a kit like this , great job !

But, it was typical AMT.

Steve H Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Hi Roger, I didn’t think I liked Pintos, but I really like the looks of that. Really nice build, and great colour. Cheers, Steve

They weren’t bad little cars. My buddy had one for all of a few weeks. He was rear ended sitting at a light. The accident report header said it all... Vehicle One: Ford Pinto. Vehicle Two: Mack. Lunajammer Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 I drove a Pinto wagon all through high school and the thought of 5-slot mags with fat meats behind that 2000cc engine is a hoot. Sure a nice looking model though and the stance is very attractive.
Koellefornia Kid Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Very cool Pinto! Got to get me one those kits!
Slimguy Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Great looking model. Really nicely done. When I turned 16 my dad bought me a brand new 72 pinto. I put similar 5 slot mags and similar large rear tires on it...also had it turbocharged..fun little four speed four banger for sure. Thanks for sharing the model. It brought back fond memories for sure.

My brother had a '79 that he had guy do some work on the head, new or maybe it was a reground cam, new carburetor and a header. He said it was like he dropped a second motor in it! He totalled it before I got a ride in it. He was drinking and showing a buddy what it would do and lost it.
Sledsel Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Very nicely done. The painting of the filler panels on the bumpers sets it above the rest.
Impalow Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Pint-tastic! absolutely Love it!... Very nice clean work!
Daddyfink Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 This is cool! Back in High School, this girl I knew had one about this color. I swear they painted everything on the car with the same paint!
