gseeds Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 (edited) Here’s what once was a very badly busted up glue bomb, but for some reason I couldn’t just toss it in the trash, I worked on this on and off for about 7 years!! I had this picture of a early’60’s show car in my head with this model, so I started with piercing the body back together and then cutting it back apart, I pan caked the hood, then hinging the door, hood and trunk then rounding all the corners and molding all the jams, useing the custom interior, windows and chassis from the amt 58 Chevy impala made everything a lot easier on this build, tuck in roll interior, trunk and hood, motor is from a monogram predicta, wheels and tires are from the amt surf woody, custom rear bumper and front grille, topped with black and a pearl purple for the bitty and gold flake top everything topped with a 2 k clear, I’m sure I’m for getting something , I’m really glad to finally have this finished and on my shelf and out of my head !! I posted a lot of pics, may too many !!! Hope you like !! Thanks for looking!! Edited February 27, 2021 by gseeds 2
Spottedlaurel Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Fantastic! Clearly a lot of work in this one, on the restoration as well as the modifications. Do you have any 'before' photos? 1

Kromolly Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Awesome restoration and build. Love the '60s custom look, especially the paint. Nice save on that one, for sure. 1
Modlbldr Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 So glad that you saw the need to save this one rather than throw it out. What a beautiful model you have ended up with. I love it! Later- 1
Modelbuilder Mark Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Really cool looking model. I have wanted to do another customer similar to this since the last one I did late 70s/early80s, but for some reason have not gotten around to it. 1
espo Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Really like this style of Kustom. The transition between the main part of the body and the custom front and rear treatments are very smooth along with the paint work. 1
bisc63 Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Love it! Nice concept, smooth execution, gorgeous color choices; everything needed for a successful custom! 1
e30lover Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Great looking paintwork! Love the stance. 1
BeakDoc Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 All of the effort really shows. Fantastic looking Poncho! I really dig the paint scheme. 1

alan barton Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Busted glue bombs are born to be customs! It's pretty obvious why this beauty took seven years. It is a balanced concept and beautifully executed, I particularly like the straight rear bumper. Cheers Alan 1
Sam I Am Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Gorgeous Pontiac! Now, about the boat tail Riv in the background. Do you want to get rid of it? 1
donb Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Great save and a great looking car Gary. Nice paint work too. 1
Dave Darby Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 Too many pictures? poppycock. Looks great Gary! A nice save, great melding of the old and new kits, period correct to a tee, and another lovely paint job. I hope we can meet again at the next "Hope It Don't (get cancelled again) Snow show in Spartanburg next year. Always love seeing your work in person. 1
