TransAmMike Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Well after several nightmares (as in "screw-ups") she's finally done.....thank goodness!! Thanks to those of you who offered some advise and especially Chaz( FLHCAHZ) for providing me with replacement decals after I messed the originals up. So here it is, not perfection, but I like it!! Sorry for different size pics, my resizing is still a WIP. Thanks so much for looking?
Dragonhawk1066 Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 That came out great! I always liked the black & gold Hertz!
vamach1 Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Very nice. Yes the strip decals are always an issue when there are hood scope and vents etc. to deal with.
TransAmMike Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 Thanks for the kuddos folks. I'm just glad its finally done
Snake45 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 VERY nice! Worth all the headaches. Well done and model on!
stitchdup Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 It might have put up a fight but you got a last round KO. The reflections in the paint really show how nice it is
espo Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Great looking build. Hertz used a few different color combinations but I still like this one the best. Very nice smooth paint and all the trim looks sharp and cleanly done.
Kromolly Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Looks really nice. The black paint looks fantastic, and nice job on the details. Well done, you conquered!
TransAmMike Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 And thanks again to all who replied, I really appreciate it. It was a bit of a struggle, especially having to remove the crooked decals and then repaint. Ya'll have a good day?
Plowboy Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Nice looking little Mustang Mike! I have this kit from way back. But, never could work up the courage to try the decals. Nice work!

Mike ... it can be sooo upsetting to have something go wrong at paint stage, heck I’m still afraid to do decals like that!.. so I commend you for persisting, and what you wound up with was a sharp looking 350H. The paint is really nice and you did some great detailing under the hood also.?

Thanks Josh, and the second application of decals didn't go on without a hitch either but at least I got them on straight (mostly)??

Biggest issue with the decals, aside from being sure the stripes are straight, is the darn curves on the hood scoop and the the depressions and curves in the front and rear valences where the license plates go. Covering them up with the plates hides it tho.
thomascoffey1959@gmail.com Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Looks great from my perspective, I still have anxiety issues when it comes to decals on complex curves. pssh decals in general.
TarheelRick Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Can't tell you had any problems. Looks like a driver to me.
