Four builds for 2021 - not too bad

It was nice to get two new builds and two long languishing builds finished.

1948 Ford hot rod. On this one, I added the independent suspension parts, exhaust and cross frame from the Monogram '37 Ford Coupe. It was actually quite easy. I recommend trying it if you are doing a resto-mod. A Ford stock car engine. I may end up taking this one apart again, to get the front just a tad lower and the stock car headers sit so low a speed bump would wipe them out.

1968 Corvette - this one was my Cannonball entry. It's the Lee Greenwood racer done as a barn find that has been mechanically restored and then raced in the CBR.

1937 Chevy - a fun build. Lots of mods. Engine from the Beretta pro-street. I did end up adding the door handles.

The Viper Kart - when I first started seeing the recent trend of Vette Karting, I knew I had to build one. However looking at my Corvette kits, I realized they didn't lend themselves to building a stripped down Corvette very well, but the Revell Viper kit, that was a different story. Lots of fun, lots of imagineering, and my first use of 3D printed parts. The injection intake is just the icing on the cake. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I like the execution of the Viper kart - don't know if there would be anyone brave enough to hack a real Viper,

Patrick, I'm sure someone is doing it. During my research for the build, I came across a few adds for stripped down Vipers, for sale, that were suggesting that very thing.

With the power the Viper has, it's not a stretch to think there are many that were wrecked by drivers foolish enough to put their foot into one, without some sort of racing training or experience. I saw a hot rod show (Speed is the New Black?) that went to an engine shop that specialized in rebuilt Viper V10s. So the secondary market for used parts is strong I'm sure.

Guys, thanks very much for the ataboys. 2021 has been rough on the old homestead and things finally seem to be going our way. I've a new job that is better in every way possible, so I'm hoping to get more modeling done, as well as more done on the farm. Ya'll have a good New Year. Our best wishes to all.

I love that 48- it's downright evil- don't change a thing! BTW, what is the finish on the trim?

Model Master Metallizer Titanium

I am really going to miss that line of paints. I've used a lot of it over the years.
