xs650shawn Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Having a builder's block with one of my other projects, so I decided to start this. Going for a Pro-Touring look with it. Rear wheel wells didn't allow my choice wheels and tires to go where I planned, as far as the stance I envision. So first order of business is to make some mini-tubs. Final stance isn't planned to be as low as the photo shows, but it shows how much more clearance the mini-tubs provide. 5
NOBLNG Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Good start! I am itching to tub something too.? 2
Cool Hand Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Nice work on the tubs, wheels suit the style of build.

I agree, I need to do something for the Johan '56 Plymouth and '59 Rambler Wagon I've got ready for primer, may need to do this to those since there's no interior in them!
Mopeyguy Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 i like where this is going, im doing a similar build, Modern Hemi powered.
Gary Chastain Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Great vision for this build, will follow
Keef Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 You have my attention sir ? Please. Continue with this awesome build! ?? 1
xs650shawn Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 Been a couple weeks since having any time for this. Realized I will have to relocate the leaf springs, considering the wider tires. So I cut out the trunk floor to make room. May end up opening the trunk too, haven't decided yet. 1
mustang1989 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Nice job working everything in so far. Love the look.
xs650shawn Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 Haven't had much bench time lately for the '71 Duster. Crammed a bit in last night. New trunk floor is in, and rear axle is narrowed to make room for the Pegasus wheels. 3
Bainford Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Nice work. Looks cool with the inboard leaf springs.
Bills72sj Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Nice work. I did a mini tub on my 67 Mustang GT. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/155547-stalled-1967-mustang-gt-coming-back-in-the-queue/
xs650shawn Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Made some progress on my '71 Duster street machine today. Made something resembling a fuel cell and battery mount areas in the trunk floor. Engine has plug wires. Had to take some creative liberty as to where the wires go, because the coil packs on this engine are so small. Coming along. 1
David G. Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Tidy mod work on this one. It must be nice getting to put some color down too. David G.
dino246gt Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Nice work on those modifications! Going to be a very cool street Duster!
slusher Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Real nice work so far, gives me the urge to start a Mopar kit..
