Khils Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 (edited) Mid morning April 25th I received word ...we've lost Snake45...and yes , I ...was the one that made contact with him in his hospital the last time he was off forum. It's what friends do! " Snake "..... was a well known name on the board. Never shy to offer a compliment, suggestion, advice or a spare needed part. Possessed of a unique sense of humor, sometimes he pushed the boundaries but not afraid to speak his mind. Friend and compatriot to some, thorn in the side to others, he was unique in style and demeanor. He will be missed by many of us, remembered fondly by all who knew him. Just because some snow flakes get their points bent....is not going to change what is becoming of this world . Rest in Peace my friend!! . Edited April 30, 2024 by Khils 2 2
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 A good man, and a good friend. I'll miss him. 1
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 I'm stunned. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. 2
atomicholiday Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Rest in piece Snake. We'll miss you around here. 3
Can-Con Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Keven informed me Friday morning and it was really hard to keep quiet for the last several days but we were asked not to let it known at the time. Build on Snake. 2
Keef Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Wow!… I’m at a loss for words right now. I’d noticed that I hadn’t seen him posting on here lately but I figured it was just life getting in the way as usually happens to us all. Prayers for his family during this time that they may find some peace and comfort. 2
ChrisBcritter Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 (edited) Oh d@mn it. I'll miss him big time - he was always a good guy to me. He was also a member of the Warbird Information Exchange (WIX) forum; I'll post there for him. Edited April 30, 2024 by ChrisBcritter 1 1

NOBLNG Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 I only knew him on the forum here, but I appreciated his talent, his advice and his candor from time to time. RIP. 5
1972coronet Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Like my fellow board members / plastic addicts, I was wondering about @Snake45 - more frequently as of late. My sincere condolences to his family and friends ( and though I'd not met him in person, we did communicate via this (fantastic) forum ). He kindly sent to me a Tri-Power induction for the Revell 396-427 simply because I'd enquired if someone had one - helluva nice guy all around ! I hope that someone is curating his (impressive) collection of originals, "Snake-Fu'ed", and other build-ups. 4
shoopdog Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Thank you Mr. Snake for all your contributions to this forum. May you rest in peace. 2
Bills72sj Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 I always enjoyed his positivity. He has some fast but effective turnarounds on some rescued treasures. Gotta love some Snake-Fu! 2
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 If I'm not mistaken, it seems that I remember hearing of some health issues a while back, but I kept hoping that he would get back on his feet. So sad. I always enjoyed snake on the board. He ruffled some feathers once in a while, and he had strong opinions, and chances are that we may have even had some disagreements between us on occasion, but like adults, we always managed to put any of that aside and be grown ups. I for one will certainly miss him. Steve 3
Roger U Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Very sad. His opinions and advice were quite interesting. RIP 2
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Snake45 gave us the term Shelf of Doom. He also had a running thread on dragging unfinished projects across the finish line. There were a lot of models that were completed. A great legacy. Anyone got a link to that thread. 2
stinkybritches Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 He was a very helpful man. His knowledge of kits always impressed me. RIP, Snake. You will be missed. 2
slusher Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 I had been talki to Snake on the phone and he told me about his church. I talk to him and ask him why he wasn’t on. He told me… he will be missed May he R.i. P. My friend … 2
thatz4u Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 sad to hear this, he was very helpful to me when I was a newbie here.... 2
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 OK. I found the link to the stalled project(Bring out your dead). In general I created a tribute with what I think were two of Snake45's big contributions to the board. 1
Bainford Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Very sad news. Snake, you have already been missed. R.I.P., and model on. 2
Tom Geiger Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Wow! So sad. I haven't been on the board as of late as I was busy with preparations for NNL East. So sorry to hear he is gone! RIF Snake! 1
