Went to a local model show and picked up a few goodies. '57 Pontiac sedan resin body(if anyone knows the maker I'd love to know!), paid $5 ea for the '60 Comet, '62 Fairlane and '60 Merc convertible annuals to add to my growing collection of annual projects to restore, 60% of a 1/12 '67 Monogram Corvette for $10. Not pictured 2 1/16 Entex Model T Ford kits and an MCW 1951-52 Oldsmobile Sedan kit. My 2 sons went with and we stopped for pizza afterwards. Not a bad way to spend the day!

I think your '57 Pontiac resin kit may have come from Steve Kohler at Star Models. He has a link here on the forum in the aftermarket section. His resin bodies are very good quality with little or no fitment issues with the plastic base kit. I missed buy one of these '57 Pontiacs at a local show/swap meet here a couple of years ago.

Resin 1/25 '60 Dodge Phoenix to keep the '61 company.

Box it came in says "Motor City Resin Casters", and it's one of the highest quality resin pieces I've ever seen.

Minor bubbling on the vac-formed clear parts, but I can definitely work with it.

I saw a while back they were having some difficulty, but if this is what their product looks like, it's sure as jell worth a wait.

Also the SBC longblock, Ford flathead V8 3-spd gearbox, and adapter from the old Revell Roth Tweedy Pie. I normally don't buy loose parts online, but this was too good a deal to snooze on. Saves me having to steal the adapter from a kit, or cast one.

Had some luck at a local automotive swap meet this morning. All complete/unassembled/not even started. The Rambler has red stripe tires (I bought a case of that kit in my early eBay days, those don't have them). Rambler was $15, the others $10 apiece. The Mustang has a straight body; most of those that I see lately has the roof leaning to one side, or crushed altogether. The Petty Talladega is the Round 2 issue; better tires and decals than the original. The Petty Plymouth kits don't sell for crazy money due to the Lindberg '64, but I like the body in the Jo-Han kit a lot better.

There were other kits there, either stuff I already have way too many of, stuff I wouldn't be able to resell, or just junk that wasn't worth bothering with.

First order back into one of my previous favorite vendor pre-pandemic. Media Mix Hobbies out of Singapore provided these. They are the 3 ST165 Celicas (89/90/91)  and the Safari Rally version of the TA64 Celica which are early Beemax kits. These fill in the missing Marlboro logos on those 4 kits (this was before BeeMaNuNu started putting those items into the Detail Up Sets).  Also lurking in the back is the Carbon Fiber for the Tamiya 2022 Nissan Z.

Haven't ordered from them for some time, maybe 5 years

Yeah they were closed for a good while during Covid and then owing to Singapore's stringent regulations on outsides entering the Island there was no mail service for an even longer time. But with HLJ in another one of their spats with Studio27 they aren't carrying the Z Carbon or the reissued TA64 Logo Sheet. 1999 wanted $30+ to DHL me those two decal sheets (which cost less than $30 to begin with) and the shipping from Media Mix was less than $10.  They had the 3 ST165 filler sheets in stock too so I took a flyer on putting in the order. They only ship out once a week (on Mondays), but once it was shipped I got it in a week. Happy to be able to add them back into the rotation.

Monthly allotment from HLJ. Not shown the P/E Set for the Volvo.

First up some new decals by SMC to create some of the Heritage Edition Ford GTs (Tamiya). There are also wheels to go along with these but of course they didn't show up until the day after I shipped this stuff...

My friend strikes again at the thrift store, the 67 Barracuda box is for the one I got a couple weeks ago and has the missing front bumper.  This stuff keeps on coming and will not ever need to buy a new kit and I have plenty to restore now.

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to travel,  as a passenger, with my long time friend and road trip buddy. Our destination was the Kingston Modelrama NNL, in Kingston, ON It was a great show put on by Kingston Scale Auto Model Club. There were many excellent models on the tables, even including a section for some AFVs. My favourite Kijiji seller, from London, ON, happened to be vending at this show, and of course was my first stop once inside the venue (well maybe my second stop, LOL). I kind of went a little overboard on purchases of wheel/tire sets and kits. It was a great time. The next stop will be 19 days from now for TORCAN 2023 at the Century Gardens Recretion Centre, Brampton, ON. Oh, and my favourite Kijiji seller will be vending there as well !

Thanks Jim. It is a good thing that my mid month income arrives in the bank before my next planned show attendance ! LOL

That does help. You should be bringing back another good haul. LoL

Quiet morning at work, so I stepped out and stocked up on paint. Grabbed a pile of Tamiya product; both jars and sprays.

And a couple of BSI CA glues.

Should last me for a little while.

Was impressed with myself. Didn't see any kits that immediately jumped out as a must have purchase, so didn't actually add to the stash today.

", so didn't actually add to the stash today."   That's an excellent demonstration of restraint, something I'm usually not capable of! LOL

Got a bunch of paint today.  This is part of my ongoing struggle to get good paint jobs.   Going to be picking up some duplicolor perfect match sometime soon too.  But this is a pretty good start.

I love Tamiya paints, but very seldom use there colors on car bodies. I use there semi-gloss black a ton as it’s the best I’ve seen, and there metallics are nice too all from the LP line. Slowly getting rid of the X line up.

On its way to me: '63 Falcon Craftsman, molded in a somewhat translucent red:

Surprisingly, the front fender spears are unbroken, the wheels don't look tire-melted, and the windshield frame is near perfect - looks like a good builder and the price was right. Now to get some whitewalls on it...

Unfortunately woke up this morning a few seconds too late to bid on one of the better '58 Bonneville hardtop builtups I've seen in the last few years - only went for $41
