A few odds and ends which have recently arrived:

I like these basic Monogram kits, despite the low parts count they build up nicely. Wire wheels are not intended for the TR7....

Been after a Celica Liftback for a while. Not sure if I'll build mine as per the box art, as usual it's essentially a road car kit with extra parts in the box. Bumpers are unchromed.

First used the 'chrome' Gundam Marker at the weekend. Not a replacement for BMF, but easier to apply in some circumstances - I did some deeply recessed headlight bowls and they look really good.

I was pleased to finally get this version of the RX-7, as I already have a couple of the earlier version. This one seems to be an older release and unusually for Tamiya it has an accessory wheel set included.

I want to combine the circuit racing parts of the Escort with the rally car kit (which has different arches) to create a loose replica of a National Hot Rod short oval racer, like this:

Ford Escort Mk2 Classic Hot Rod

I've got a regular "stock" lift back kit if you'd be interested in a swap...?

Thanks, but sadly I fear that shipping to/from the UK would not be favourable.

In any case, looks like some JDM Liftbacks did have body-colour bumpers, and I'm unlikely to build mine completely stock anyway.

If your interested I can help you with sources for different elements for this build.  I'm in the process of looking to purchase decals for this escort and will let you know if theyre ready and available.

we've a good group on FB , Classic Hot Rod Models All Scales.  Go onthere for some Hotrod specific help if you want.

Excellent kit choices!

Thanks... ya know, I'm excited about all of them but as many times as it's been out of the years I've never built the 55. I'm actually the most excited about that one.

Nothing too exciting but picked up a '67 Vette and VW Beetle at HL. I'm surprised they didn't re-price the Beetle with the higher price like the new Revell inventory! I'm trying to work a deal on a 1:1 Corvette so my kit buying money might be limited for a while!

Another semi-grail, the old Howmet turbine car, almost complete and unmolested. Missing a couple of small parts I can easily make. I already had the open "Can-Am" version it got retooled into, but I'd always wanted a model of the historically-correct real car. Paid more than I wanted to, but a good bit less than I've seen them go for, so I'm content.

The built late Ford J-car I got cheap ended up missing more parts than I'd thought, so when I came across this semi-virgin for semi-reasonable money I sprung for it. Using it for patterns for the missing parts on the other one, I should be able to come up with a complete painted version, and one full clear-body version.
