I'm glad my dogs aren't big enough to wreak havoc in my model room.  They are all a few inches from the floor.   No little visitors otherwise.

I have two 3-YO grandsons. One of them understands and respects the concept of "no."  The other seems to have real problems with it for some reason.

Thanks for all the parenting tips. The best thing about being an uncle,is that the kids go home with mom.Lol?

I am glad to hear you are trying to get the little guy working with you. I agree 100% being an Uncle is great because they go home. LOL

One day my niece told me the old ( you aren't my dad) line. I said you are right I am not. Just remember you are at my house I am the boss here, not your mother.  My sister laughed at us both and then told her daughter he is the boss here.

Sorry to hear your situation but maybe I can let you know you're not alone.

Our neighbor smokes all the time. I've seen him with a lit cigarette in his mouth while filling his lawn mower with gas! We can't use our backyard because of the gagging cigarette smoke. Can't have windows open in the summer unless we know he's gone. He's loud no matter if it's 6 am out there gagging and coughing up a lung and belching. He takes a pee in his backyard when he's drinking his entire 6 pack of beer while smoking and at his bar-b-q which he douses with a quart bottle of lighter fluid to get it started. They have a dog that barks at the fence whenever I go outside. We have 2 small dogs but I have taught them not to bark at every little thing.

Every house on our street has a tree between the sidewalk and street and we all deal with the leaves. He uses a backpack leaf blower and only cleans the leaves off the sidewalk up to the property line between himself and us. It's his tree! I could go on but you get the idea. None of the other neighbors care for him and his wife because they're not friendly. The rest of us give a wave while driving by, etc. And no one else smokes except them and we get to live next to them.

Here's the funny thing. On the other side of us is a nice little Filipino woman and her sister. She is the best neighbor ever. She mows our front lawn when she does her own. Never asked her to but she does it. Every year around the holidays we take over some type of gift and thank her. She's also the friendliest person you'll ever meet. My wife and I always tell people we have the worst neighbor on one side and the best neighbor on the other.

I have  1 of those neighbors and I am glad we have a house between us an him. The guy died during heart surgery and beat throat cancer twice but didn’t chang him. He did loose his voice box. Still smokes everything and drives in and out of the subdivision all hours of the night and tries to annoy everyone...

I have the leaf fiend behind me. All year long if there’s a single leaf out there, he has this monster walk behind leaf blower going at 180 decibels! He’s wearing ear muffs but thinks nothing of walking this contraption right up against the fence when we are out in our pool.

As I write this post,my next door neighbors gardeners have been hard at work with their extremely annoying leaf blowers, and mowers, doing their fall clean up since 8 am.Its just a constant, and very loud humming noise that is worse than scratching your nails down a chalk board. What ever happened to raking up leaves the old fashion way?WITH A RAKE!!!lol

Why?

When I did stupidly destructive stuff when I was small, it provoked lots of loud responses from adults.

Maybe that's one reason I've always had respect for other peoples' property and boundaries.

Absolutely correct!! Thats the problem with younger people and kids today!! If parents nowadays were more like parents years ago half the bs going on now wouldn't be going on...

that doesn't really make sense, weren't parents now brought up by parents years ago? lol

How does it not make sense? Over the years parents stop teaching kids discipline.

The teachers for both of my boys made it a point to compliment the wife and I at school events how polite and respectful they are.

I tell them you have to put your foot up their 'posterior' on occasion.....they don't come programmed that way!

When my kids were small we’d get compliments on how good they were in restaurants.  And we thought it was just normal!

My irk of the day?  Bank of America texted me that they just closed all the branches in my area!   It’s a pain to move to a new bank!

Tom I take this permanent closures and not temporary?

Just checked and notice says temporarily closed, but it’s all of them within the area, so I think they’re just easing into that.. done with them anyway. They ticked me off this summer and this is final straw

Yea oi know what you mean. I think a lot of places are pushing to close locations. Retailers have been using the virus to push credit and debit card and take less cash. I just don't see this as progress.

Same here . . . when they were small.

When they grew up, not so much!  LOL.

I went to clear coat my ‘64 Impala (yesterday actually)  and lightly shot a bit of low pressure compressed air over the trunk to blow the minor dust particles off. I wound up blowing the chevy emblem decal to smithereens!? Luckily, I haven’t applied the identical front one yet, so I can copy it.

Drivers that just sit there when they get a green light. I doesn't get any greener . Worse on an arrow. Instead of 6 or 7 cars getting to go your lucky if 4 make it. I am always the fifth car it seems.

Just another reason customers prefer the internet shopping versus in person retail.....

  • Wife went to the grocery store to grab a few last things and then stopped at Dollar Tree for other things.  Arm full of stuff, she went to the check out and the lady said she was on break but the other register was open (line was two people deep).  The line wasn't moving so the wife looked up to see the cashier was playing on her phone.  She put the merch on the other counter and told the manager why the line wasn't moving.
  • Local toy/collectible store had a kit on their Facebook page so wanted to see if they still had it before making the drive.  (Actually you can call or text them but they never answered the text so I ended up calling).  I said told the employee what they had featured on their Facebook page including the date, time and other items posted.  He said it wasn't them.  Um no, I'm looking at it on-line right in front of me.  He put me on hold (more likely never bothered to move from his position) and came back in 20 seconds he doesn't remember putting any of those items out.  The store is four aisles and I'm pretty sure I know exactly which one these items would be in.

That's a ton of traffic. Ray.  Around here if there's 4 cars at a light, it's heavy traffic.

Was sitting behind one of these "yahooes" at a light in town. Light turned green and they just sat there, I gave a light toot on the horn, they didn't move. Gave a louder blast and still no movement. Light turned yellow, they crawled a bit forward, when it turned red they finally made their left turn and gave me a "thank you one finger wave".  If I could have got to them I don't believe it would have been classified road rage, but justifiable battery.
