It's not untruthful just missing a complete description. Well it has a bid so ebay will not allow the title to be changed to simply add better info. I guess they have their reasons. I've seen eBay listings pulled down "due to an error in the listing", even with bids on it. I always suspected that it was done to do some backdoor sale of the item outside of eBay. You could also contact the bidder and tell them that there is incomplete description, assuming that eBay still allows contacting bidders. Edited March 6, 2022 by peteski

The waitress explained that you simply scan the QR code on the back of the menu with your smart phone and then the prices will be available. Really? My wife has a basic phone and I don't have a phone at all. IMHO another step backwards for us all. Hey another example of corporate cost cutting without thinking it through. 1) we don't have to reprint menus every time we want to change prices. 2) we can change the prices throughout the day Hey its a win-win. And hey if this works we can get rid of printed menus all together. Even more savings. All in the decision chain knows everybody has a cell phone. However none knows that everyone doesn't have a smart phone.

We always ask for a printed menu and have always gotten one. If we ever get refused we will walk out!? 1
stavanzer Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 I'm unhappy that I missed attending the March Meets this year. I just could not afford to go. I have not been able to make it since 2019! Ugh! Between COVID, Eye Surgery and scarce funds, I have just had to put it off. Well, I should be able to make the Hot Rod Reunion in October. Maybe next year, provided they happen next year.
Smoke Wagon Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 (edited) Oil filler tube in my ‘03 Dodge snapped in half this afternoon while changing the oil. Thank you Chrysler for making the 4.7’s oil filler tube out of rubber (mine was dry-rotted and brittle) and giving it a long, unsupported filler neck. EDIT: I’m a dingus. It wasn’t made out of rubber, just good old pentastar plastic, aka cheapesium. Many heat cycles over the last 19 years certainly weakened it. Edited March 9, 2022 by Smoke Wagon
Tom Geiger Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 How about a good laugh? We thought the model car guys were nutz on Facebook? Well the vintage stereo guys had a meltdown over Equalizers! ?

Don't try to make out that looking at a shaft to see if it's splined or not has anything to do with "cost cutting"...unless you hire an actual monkey that doesn't know what a "spline" is to do the job. And NOBODY ever had to hold a gun to MY head to make me do a job right; I quit places where the management couldn't tell quality from a hole in the ground. The responsibility for crapp work lies with the person who does the crapp work. Period. EDIT: I'm fully aware that blaming the system, or society, or corporations, or history, or Western Civilization, or whatever the excuse-du-jour is has become the common mantra now for every failing, real or imagined. And it's bull. There's a little thing called "taking personal responsibility" that trumps every excuse in the book. Exactly! Folks are getting lazier and lazier to do a simple job done right the first time.
mchook Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Put $100 in gas in my truck (3/4 tank) Thursday, must really be made of gold because Friday the front gas tank strap pulled through the frame. Got it in the garage & temporarily fixed it last night. 50 degrees yesterday, today 8 inches of snow so far and still snowing. Trying to get the tractor started to go plow & I flooded it so I killed the battery. After 1/2 hour on the charger she finally fired up. While plowing I tore up the driveway because everything was soft from the warm weather we've been having. I was going to work on a model, but with my luck the last few days I figured I better not.
crazyjim Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Storm came through Saturday morning and knocked our power out all day.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 (edited) Ongoing irks: people who can't or won't read (poor comprehension or just plain laziness), particularly anyone who mindlessly rebleats whatever their echo-chamber peers say; "professional journalists" who aren't fluent in their native languages; people who accept whatever drivel the "experts" or "authorities" vomit up without questioning it; the vast majority of YouTube comments; talking heads who rarely seem to feel the need to actually know what they're talking about; internet posters who do the same; people who can't admit when they're wrong; lipstick on pigs; mutton dressed as lamb. iamsuperdan Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 So the other day I set up my 3D printer to print a truck body all day while I was at work. But mid-day, there was a power outage affecting half of our town. And I ended up with half a body. And prints can't be just restarted where they left off. Ugh.

89AKurt Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Watching stupid drivers yesterday. One drove the wrong way into a roundabout in Sedona, but at least turned right. Got behind someone on the two lane, going 5 under the speed limit, but when the passing zone came up sped up, then slowed down guess where. Then close to home, the green left turn arrows turned, and an old woman thought she could go straight, the left turner honked, but she was on a mission.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Little disappointment, as I'd kinda thought I'd get some bench time yesterday and today, first opportunity in months...but we had 35 mph winds all day Saturday that did some damage and kept the house too cold to really enjoy modeling (never got it over 50 degrees inside), and I've been working all day today fixing things and clearing deadfall. Guess I should be glad nothing fell on any of the cars. One particular fall could have totalled the 911.
PatW Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Here in the UK the price of fuel is steeply on the rise at the beginning of last week a litre of diesel was £1.58 per litre ( X four for a gallon) it is now £1.74 per litre. It used to fluctuate by a few pence but not at this rate! I don't know if it's the same in the US but we are in our 70's and don't live by a mobile phone, we went into our favourite coffee shop today and all most all of the seats/tables were taken, we found one and sat down in near silence as everyone else, couples and families were gawping at their phones! I wonder if they have minds of their own, a real conversation killer!

When the power came back on the TV wouldn't do anything but put a message on the screen about updating the system, we've had the TV a few years, so can't find the original manual, when I phoned the supplier they said as the warranty had run out they couldn't speak to me! I called the SKY satellite company and the lady took two minutes to talk me through it although the TV or message was not her responsibility!

GLMFAA1 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 What irks me is the model manufactures that relabel/misidentify the model. ie the thread right now regarding the AMT 'Big Rig' trailer. That was originally IMC/Testors kit. It is getting confusing to see Revell morph into AMT morph into MPC morph into AMT morph into Italeri morph into Atlantis morph into Monogram morph into Ertl etc. etc. etc........ If you don't have license to use the original manufacturer, just put it out as a rerelease under your company name. greg
