The ones on ethernet cables seem to fail after relatively few cycles. Hmm, it is the same "RJ" type design, and should be made form the same material. The only difference is the number of contacts (thus their physical size). The telephone ones 4 or 6 positions (usually with 2 or 4 contacts), and the Ethernet ones are larger, usually with 8 positions and 8 contacts. I suppose different manufacturers use slightly different (cheaper, crappier) quality plastic to make them. Not sure why Ethernet RJ connectors would not be as robust. 1

TonyK Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Not a follower of horse racing and not an expert on horses but can't help seeing all the news stories lately about many race horses having problems and being euthanized. Just a shame.

Conditions have been perfect. We even have ongoing news stories on CNN. Looking outside, it looks like Blade Runner. Skies are smoky and hazy, sun is orange and entire sky looks orange. Very apocalyptic and dystopian. Our air quality is worse than Beijing right now. No fires in my immediate area, but I know a lot of people displaced and evacuated right now. Being outside sucks right now. Ash falling on everything, breathing is tough, so walking the dog is tough. Lots of people have even been listening to the experts and are wearing masks when outside. Luckily, thanks to last few years, everyone has boxes of masks still. Supposed to rain on Monday, so we'll see. I saw that on the news. I really don’t like seeing forrests burning ? away. They are so peaceful when you walk thru them.

Just a shame. I lost interest in watching the triple crown races when on of the horses broke a leg running the race a number of years ago. They tried to save him but eventually he was euthanized. The inbreeding makes them subject to being easily hurt and I found that very disturbing Edited May 22, 2023 by bobthehobbyguy

Ace-Garageguy Posted May 22, 2023 Posted May 22, 2023 More and more disgusted with USPS. Two packages shipped Saturday, one that is extremely time-critical, neither tracking number has been updated since I dropped them at the PO.

Calb56 Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 I don't even know if it can be defined as an "irk" but I just need to put it out there... Monday morning, my wife got a call from her ex that their son had o.d.'d. He was 30. Long story very short, she had just started building a relationship finally, after trying his entire life. They lived on opposite coasts. She is overwhelmed, unmoored...and I am very little help. I hate things that I can't fix as I'm very straightforward in a lot of ways. Thanks for the ear...hold onto those you love. 1

HomerS Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Had my knee scope this a.m. The good news is the Dr took out the piece of the meniscus that was town off and trimmed the meniscus still in place so the healing is six weeks versus twelve weeks (the 12 weeks of recovery was if it was able to be sewn back together). The bad news it makes more likely needing a full knee replacement later in life due to the arthritis in that knee. Ironically, I've torn the meniscus on the inside of the knee of both legs (not the outside of the leg) I don't donate blood as 1) I dont do needles and 2) the veins run deep in my arms so they are difficult to find. The first time i tore the right one, I was half awake and the stuck the IV in the back of my hand. Really bad words in paragraph form. Wasn't expecting it. They intubated me but I must have been the student test monkey as my throat is inflamed. I'm impressed I have about 25% range of motion. Granted it was over 30 years ago but the other knee had a serious 0% range of motion. Fortunately I was dating someone who had multiple knee surgeries and I still hear Amy's word of bending itasmch as you can before you get to therapy or they will bend it for you.

Well, if you don't use those gloves at least you'll never run out. I gotta say, though, the wire rack you came up with for your siphon tube is genius. Wish I'd thought of that when I was using siphon-feed airbrushes! 1
stitchdup Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 uhu glue. I bought 3 tubes of it to use on my dio and while they have the same batch number, only one of them has been any use. the first tube stuck stuff hard enough to keep working in a fairly short time fram, while the other 2 tubes are complete garbage that just makes a tacky mess that dont go off. So after cleaning most of the mess off I went for araldite epoxy but it caused a reaction between it, superglue and the uhu to the point that my glue dish started smoking!! Trying pva now so fingers crossed
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 (edited) Dead flatbed semi loaded with enough lumber to build a house, in front of my house since about 2:20 when it showed up on my security cam feed. Still there now I'm home, guys working on it don't seem to have a clue. How the driver got it there's a mystery too, as there's a narrow 90degree hairpin turn that he would have to come through, and even big box trucks usually wipe their RH sides on a huge pine when they try. Fascinating. Oh yeah...and double standards always chap my wrinkly old backside. Edited June 2, 2023 by Ace-Garageguy
JollySipper Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 The fact that there's entirely too many dogs in the complex now...... I was the first one in this segment of the complex to have a dog. We have a 'no pet' policy, but people have found a loophole where they can be allowed an 'emotional support animal'..... I kinda need an ESA for real, as I spend a bunch of time alone with my schizophrenia. We have pitts running loose off leash, a chihuahua that goes just where ever......... It's crazy now..........

It's crazy now.......... we've got a neighbour that has no idea how to control her dog. 3 times this week she has stood doing goldfish impressions while her mutt attacks ours and the neighbours cats. She got annoyed with me cos i threw a bucket of water over the dog cos i wasn't reaching past an aggrasive pit to rescue tha cats as i like my hands being useful. all the idiot needs to do is keep it on the lead. I sorta hope the dog goes after the local farmers sheep because he wont hesitate to shoot it dead. I believe the dog was a rescue which may explain why its how it is as most pits i know are pretty docile animals but this one is just dangerous
Little Timmy Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 I'm going in for neck surgery at the end of August. The doctor told me I have to stop smoking ( something about the 2 bone graphs won't heal properly because of the Nicotine in my system) Well.... I'm on day 2 of cold turkey, and I just want to drive my car into a brick wall !!! Everything is making me angry .... air .... flowers....children... you get the idea.
Tom Geiger Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Weekends.. especially ones where we don’t have obligations, are the only time I can sleep late. So what happens? Two doors away they get tree guys sawing and chipping away before 8am BOTH days! All day! I’m just glad I wasn’t having a party! And on top of all that noise I have the commercial for the post office stuck in my head!
