The factory battery in my 200 finally gave up……..064B251D-18A7-4C12-986B-92C02748C1B5.thumb.jpeg.722890f909900a2467067ce65887e11a.jpeg

Can’t really complain though, the car is going to turn 11 y/o next month and that battery is likely already at least that old.

Batteries definitely seem to last longer in colder climates...my '14 Jeep has it's original battery, still starts fine.  Quite a contrast to when I lived in Arizona and batteries rarely lasted more than 2 to 2 1/2 years...

I will say this though, that would be a much better job in Arizona this time of year bs the Midwest, especially when the battery is in the front bumper like it is on these and their siblings?

Interesting battery location. My Jeep has it under the passenger seat.

I’d have preferred that, to be honest, though we would have been standing on our heads either way.

I had two Plymouth Breezes with the hidden battery like this. Pep Boys had free installation so I let them have at it!

It wouldn’t have been so bad if it was warmer and/or we had a shop with a lift and could raise the car up so we were sitting on low stools or standing on our heads doing the work.

One quart of MGS 285 fast epoxy hardener.

Stuff's about $90/quart now, including shipping, while the 285 resin is closing on $300 per gallon, plus shipping.

My old fast hardener finally went totally bad. I still have some 287 slow, but it takes forever to cure, and is brittle until post-cure.

Last warning to everyone. Gun talk is no longer allowed here. I am sure there are plenty of other places you can take that conversation to.

Minimum 30 day bans from this point on.

I did not know that. First time I've heard there was such a rule. Maybe the rule was made while I was in the hospital a while back.

I apologize.

Can't remember the last time I heard the word "potentiometer". Takes me back to electronic stuff when I was younger. Y'know, capacitors and transistors and resistors.....

A pair of 5 watt, 10,000 ohm potentiometers, some black-oxide 4-40 countersunk socket-head capscrews, and a bunch of 6061 T6 aluminum 1/4 inch round rod.

Pretty exciting, huh?

That'll take it past 11 for sure...

A set of M/T valve covers for my 340, I’ve been searching for a set for quite a while and they showed up on a FB group I’m a part of an had them shipped and got them today. I will need to sand blast them and re spray them to match the motor but overall they are in pretty good condition.

I also got a new BD turbo for my 6.0L to replace the original 400000 KM one that decided to fail.

New addition to my work bench from Herman Miller.  Expensive but my aching back says it is a great choice!

I've had a few of these over the years...currently have two in my home office..one at my work desk and one at my hobby table.  Very adjustable and comfortable.
