JollySipper Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 I'm almost ashamed to even show this one! This build kinda fought me in pretty much every way it could..... Not my finest moment. The dash popped out of position once I had it pretty much together, meaning I had to take it back apart. The clear didn't stick, so everywhere I had to trim foil on the body, I lifted the clear when removing excess foil..... Anyway, after a failed and redone paint job on top of all that, this one can call itself done! 3
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 The mild custom treatment really works well on this, and it's a great color for it too. Makes me want to build one. Nice work.
Miatatom Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 We're our own worst critics. I think you did a good job. Love the color. The 56 and 60 are my favorite early Fords.
Steamboat Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Looks great to me. I wish I could build one that clean!
David G. Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 It looks like it was worth all the trouble you went through, it came out pretty good. When I have one that challenges me the way this one did you I just remind myself: '"Each kit I build is really only practice for the next one!" I like that line so much that I put in my signature. espo Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Like the "Day 2 look" style/theme of your build. The paint finish looks great. I like how you tucked the bumpers in.
JollySipper Posted April 9, 2023 Author Posted April 9, 2023 Thanks a bunch, Fellas! It does look a bit better in person than in the pics.....
TransAmMike Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Seem we're our worst critics.....looks pretty darn good to me T J. ?
papajohn97 Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 (edited) What a beautiful classy tastefully executed late 50’s/ early 60’s custom. None of the issues that you encountered appear visible to me in your photos. The stock lines and trim on these cars really supported two-tone paint schemes but I think the one color really compliments and differentiates the overall styling from a typical stock ‘56 Ford. The peak look-see view of a small portion of the custom interior makes me want to see more of it. Over-all very cool car, thank you for posting! Edited April 9, 2023 by papajohn97 Content correction
Rattlecan Dan Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Really Pretty car. Think you should tighten the doors up to be even nicer. MHO.

I did do a WIP thread on this one...... here's the link to it.......... It shows that the work put in was a better quality than the finished piece ended up being......
Zippi Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 I like the old Fords. Even with the issues you had it came out pretty nice.

Monty Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Not AMT's best engineering, so congrats on getting it past the finish line. May I ask what actual paint you used? (ex: Model Master #1649)
