Yesterday I picked up a old 68 Corvette convertible promo needing help cheap.  Now to find the parts to restore her to her formal glory...glass and post frame...has a small chip missing from the drivers front corner of the bumper...otherwise nice.

I'm pretty sure the '68 Corvette promos were made by MPC. So the glass and windshield frame from the current-issue '75 roadster kit might be a perfect fit. If that doesn't work, maybe the parts from a Revell '68 roadster could be adapted.

Sweet! I think I have a couple things made by the same unidentified outfit--'64 Cutlass, '65 Nova, and '68 GTO. All are quite well done and I don't know who made them.

ETA: Just took a close look at your pic, and the front and rear bumper pieces look strange. Are you sure they're for a '66 Comet?

Looks odd because the lower headlights and lower grill section are cast with the front bumper.  Upper headlights are cast separately (sitting to the right in my pic, above the wheels), as is the upper grille (hidden behind the front bumper in my lousy pic).  Rear bumper is also upside down in my photo, which probably makes that look weird, too.

My first impression was that it was a straight repop of a '66 annual, but my little bit of research isn't showing that a convertible annual was ever available.  So seems like the master must have been converted from a hardtop annual.  Has everything necessary for a build except wheel backs, tires, and engine.

Correct, '68 Corvette promos were MPC. My first thought was to try the '75 roadster for parts too.

Ah, I see it now! Just glad you didn't get some unbuildable hot mess. Good luck with it and keep us posted!

Nice score. I like these unusual resin subjects. Is this out of production?

Motorcity does a 69 if not mistaken.

Yes, they do, or at least did, and it's the nicest resin body I've ever seen. Mine could easily be mistaken for an original '60s white styrene kit part.

Due to lack of display space left I'm selling all or most of my 1/24 & 1/25 kits and planes, so buying smaller 1/32 and 1/43rd kits. Got this yesterday from ebay here in the UK for just £5.99!

If you like those old AIRFIX 1/32 cars, you might try to find the "Classic Car Collection" released around 2006. Includes the Ford Escort Mk 1, Vauxhall Viva, and Triumph Herald.  One recently sold on eBay for about $25. (Pic below).

All I got today (at the Flea Market) was a Revell '63 Corvette Snap-Kit.  It's built but can be easily un-built. That's OK, it's a nice little kit and it was cheap.

That sucks! Local shop or mail order

Ebay store. While not technically their fault, it was shipped in a soft envelope. They agreed to issue a refund and return it right away, so I'm not upset. Both of these can be replaced. If it was a rare kit, I'd be pretty pissed
