    Awesome build. A.J.
  3. My high school calculus teacher had one of theses in a forest green color with the black vinyl top, black stripe, and black vinyl interior. Beautiful build.
  4. The attached image is from Tim Boyd's review of the new kit. I have attached a cropped image of the chrome tree showing the gas cap just to the lower right of the grille which is where it has been for a number of decades since the old MPC days. .
  5. Here are the images taken by Tim Boyd of the kits mentioned above.
  6. Well in chatting with Dave Metzger at the Warren show, he said that the 1965/66 4X4 Ford LWB F100 on display in built up form would likely not come out until 2021, and the Chevy, if it ever comes out, would be after that. Of the others on display, the 1965/66 Ford F100 SWB stepside pickup in on the boat, and should hit the US sometime later this month, with the Model Ling utility box version about a month or two after that. The 1965/66 SWB and LWB F100 standard bed kits will be out sometime in 2020. He also said that they were placing another order to build another batch of the 1969 Ford F100 4X4's that beat their expectations and sold out within weeks, and these should be available around the late summer.
  7. That's what I overheard Dave tell someone else asking that same question at the show.
  8. Here's my version that was a replica of the cpompany car I had at the time.
  9. I made my own using some Evergreen plastic strips and headlamps from an MPC Dodge Omni 2 dr. Here's what it looks like in my MSP Tahoe.
  10. One other thing to keep in mind is that the batteries are HEAVY, so where you go off-roading would be important as well. When I was working for Chrysler, we had developed several hybrid and all electric vehicles. The amount of torque from electric motors is unbelievable, so much so that we used torque-limiting software in the control modules. Disable the software, and you'd smoke the tires on even moderate throttle acceleration, which would get you all sorts of stares when driving an electric mini-van.
  11. Here's one I build when it first came out. Nice kit. FYI - Those wheels can used used for Chevrolet police wheels if you leave the center hub chrome, but paint the rest of the wheel semi-gloss black like I did on the MSP Tahoe. A.J.
  12. Of course the good thing about this release is that they'll be using the polished molds that give the plastic its shine. That would be great for novice builders who still don't paint their kit bodies. A.J.
  13. Spoke with one of the guys from Round 2 at a model show awhile back, and he said that they did have the turbine insert, but wasn't sure of its condition. I suggested that they offer it as a standalone kit like their chrome sleeper. He said that sounded like an idea worth considering IF the insert was usable. Let's hope that it is available again. A.J.
  14. I happened to buy the last two at my local hobby shop this afternoon. He got 12 in on Thursday that he ordered two months ago, and my purchase was for the last two that he had. He's got another dozen on order from his distributor, but he hasn't received a promise date as to when they'll be shipped. A.J.
  15. While on ebay, look for one of the 8' beds from several of the older MPC Dodge pickup kits as well. The 8' bed can be sectioned down to the 6' length you are looking for. This in exactly what Don Holthaus did to create the master for their resin conversion. A.J.
  16. Modelhaus did. You may want to look for them on ebay. A.J.
  17. I like how this particular kit was priced at $1.59 down from the $2.00 retail price. The "200" after the 8734 was the suggested retail price AMT printed right on all of their kit packaging. The first $2.00 kits were the '60 Pickups and the double kit 1925 Ford Model T kits A.J.
  18. Fantastic build of this classic truck. Well done! A.J.
