  1. While I understand some of the concerns made public here, especially those from guys who eat and breathe Hot rods, I'm getting more and more exited with every (re)view of the test shots and builds made from it. In the past I Hot rods never did anything for me, but by meeting people who have one and watching TV shows like Gas Monlee's, I got this itch, so can't wait, till the first release hits our shores, to play with the parts, just like any 46 year old kid would do
  2. Too much undercut in the body shape to be derived from a diecast tool, I think (based on the plastic kit made from the Vanishing point Challenger, and ex Smokey and the Bandit T/A)
  3. Welcome back Brett, back to the subject, blew up the photo this morning to look at the body and the fenders look '68-69 to me.
  4. Then write a polite letter to Revell, what engines you would like in what and why it is a great idea. Companies do listen, but do know that esoteric options are a hard sell, they rather go for something that is sell able to the broadest audience possible within each modeling segment.
  5. Steve, realy goes the extra mile, in making us believe it's a model kit. For starters he removed all engine wiring from his car Again a job well done Steve. Likewise for team Moebius!
  6. Mine was a second generation Opel Ascona (photo taken from the net, mine was sort of a French blue) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Ascona
  7. Also don't always believe what's printed on a model kit box, some 1/25th scale kits are in fact 1/24th, just because they looked too small (not much bang for the buck) while other designs were cut short to fit the box. Like many here said, if the subject matter appeals to me, I'll buy it, be it 1/24th or 1/25th scale.
  8. If there weren't any collectors, then current day modelers couldn't find, original 60s mint kits on the secondary market, to build, only restore-able?! glue bombs LOL
  9. But when you go over the surface with your finger is it grainy or smooth.
  10. Cool and still a admirer/fan, you're a better man then I will ever be LOL
  11. Rob, you're the exception to the rule, one of the reasons we connect even though we never met.
  12. Think we're a special breed, most Americans won't touch a '70 land-yacht with stick, it's a black page in their motoring history. But Europeans never drove those, so we never experienced the lack of quality, we just remember them from TV shows and what Tinseltown showed us un the silver screen, you can't beat childhood memories/nostalgia. Maybe like some Japanese companies did in the 70s & "80s European companies will tool up some in the future, just as they did with American big rigs.......we can always dream right?! At least Revell is giving us a '76 Ford Gran Torino, yipiyayee! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
  13. Round-2 holds the right cards for that one, but sadly they don't tool up new stuff as they cancelled the long rumored Dodge Demon kit. Oh well an original Jo-han can still be obtained for only an arm and a leg.
  14. Mine is on order and will ship, when both Moebius Ford pickups arrive, at my favorite hobby dealer.
  15. Hmm, why didn't I think of that LOL No seriously, my post was tongue in cheek, all the new Moebius kits are pre-ordered at my favorite dealer
  16. The only problem I see, is.... Sneaking 'm into the house without the wife noticing
  17. Hello all, Was at a friend yesterday and he gave me a flyer of this French company which produces diecasts of vintage trucks in 1/24th scale. http://www.maqmadon.com/ I thought to spread the news Also interesting is that you can buy this seperate....
  18. Built one as a teen and being a ex Monogram kit it goes together without any problems, The only thing I recall is that you have to spread the rear quarter panels a bit to install the rear valance (use leftover sprue cut to lenght and remove when the glue has dried)
  19. It's still the same site, though they refined the search feature and proposals nomenclature, somewhat. Yes...also a plethora of subjects, of which many duplicates, so IMHO it still needs some more massaging, also in the voting process.(if the displayed numbers are factual, not fictional, as in why let the competition use the data) Is it useful in it's current form, I doubt it, but it's nice to have a place to voice or post your idea.
  20. More buying power means, truckloads of funds coming in, which can be a lubricant for licensing negotiations , makes a larger R&D team possible, which leads to shorter development times, etc, etc....
  21. Because there are far more people and kids who like models, but don't want to build, don't think Diecast kits were a success either. And creative kids use Lego and the like, to express themselves, maybe due to the fact that building a model kit, is a one way street, once build it just sits there and deteriorate over time (mom cleaning) Lego can be disassembled and the parts can be used to build something else, dunno just guessing
  22. I think the licensing and tooling costs, stamps this proposal paper as not lucrative. If it had a great ROI percentage then it would've been tooled up yesterday
  23. Just bought these from that auction site, spread the word....
  24. Think the question to ask is, is it worth to pull the '68-'69 tool from production, to rework it.
