Side marker reflectors - why paint them?
zakdoggi replied to vamach1's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Great idea! Thanks for sharing. -
For what it's worth, I think most of us mix our color on the run as we need them. I did so yesterday, mixing Tamiya red and black acrylics to get the right dark red shade I needed for an MSD ignition unit. But I don't keep any particular mixes handy. My work is by eye. If it looks right, it is. So I think the whole concept of color is in the eye of the beholder.

In my haste to get some primer on the Falcon today, I forgot to wash the resin body and the results are evident!! Darn it! Out with the stripper!! Anyhow, I did manage to paint the fuel cell (made from thick paper card), the chassis plate and get a top coat on the interior. Color is Gloss Antique White USA from a Dulux dura max enamel rattle can. This will be the body color too. At least some more progress while the weather outside is cold and wet ? Cheers..... Geoff

Chevy Nova Race Car

Been a little while since my last post but managed to take advantage of the wet conditions here at home and spend some time at the bench. Tackled the rest of the roof trim today. Rain gutters and rear window surround attached. More sanding and shaping to do but very happy with progress. Cheers..... Geoff -

Well done Patrick. I'm about to tackle one myself - a commissioned build for a prestige car collector. As you say, Tamiya quality should ensure an easy and straightforward build.

Nice clean build. Good stuff and love the nostalgic background story. Always refreshing to know we can rekindle special memories through our hobby.

Beautiful job on a classic muscle car. May I suggest blacking out the front scoop on the hood to give it the flow through look of the real thing. ???

Nice build there.
