  1. Well -it is a Camaro. ?. There are some 67 Mustang out there that are pretty bad too. I think Motorworks is the brand. You are better off trying to catch a deal on older Frankin or Danbury mint ones. I bought about three dozen DM and FM cars in an online local auction in lots of 12 at an average of $20 a car. ?. This was at least five years ago so I'm not sure if prices have gone back up since they've been discontinued.
  2. Yes, there was an Escort with your name on it.
  3. About 75% done but here's 007's ride in Diamonds are Forever as of today. Still need an engine, exhaust, Mach1 decals (no stripes or blacked out hood) and I'll need to adjust the wheelbase a little as I used those darn thick metal axles. This was a glue bomb rescue AMT kit. Last picture shows fron wheels moved forward. I may switch up the wheels, these are the ones from the MPC kit and they are pretty deep. Just noticed the interior is red and not black. No worries, I have plenty of spare ones. Guess this is going to take longer than I thought.
  4. Not what everyone would expect when they hear Mach1 but here's may take on the little jewel as Mr. Iacocca called the 2nd generation Mustang that out sold the previous three years by a landslide. THANKS Mldbldr for many parts supplied for the build.
  5. I'm 98% done with this one. I'll add some side mirrors that did not come with the kit and the upper radiator hose. I had to use sheet plastic for the side windows. A big thanks to modlbldr on the forum for sending a lot of stock parts for the build. The kit was a race car so I need wheels, exhaust and an engine. I'm not sure when I acquired the kit but one side was cracked and had to be repaired. The Mach1 decals are from a 71/72 Keith Marks decal sheet. The tires are much wider than the kits and the 13 inch ones that would have come on the real thing but they were the only ones that were smaller yet wide enough to fit the wide rims. If the kit was perfect I'd worry about the glass imperfections and other issues but my goal was to build something besides a 69-73 Mach1. Many people probably forgot Ford even made a Mach1 when the II's came out - the Cobra II got a lot more attention. I do have another Mustang II kit so that will be the next build - Farrah's ride.
  6. The treasurer is probably still adding up the proceeds that will give our club bank account a boost to pay for upcoming shows and the monthly meeting room. There were some great deals today and everyone went home with a box of kits and other collectibles.
  7. Will it have an engine?. So disappointing the same Japanese molds have been rehashed for the last 40 years and not one has an engine. It's not like it is the only mid-engine car ever made but it is one of the sexiest for sure. Brad from HRM was working a transkit but I'm not sure where he's at with it.
  8. He cast a special part (72 Mustang hood) for me about 20 years ago. I wanted some more recently and he still had the mold and made me more. Just because it's not listed does not mean he does not have it anymore.
  9. Thanks everyone for posting. I know it's frustrating to not be able to order from a website but just think of it like the old days with the Autoworld catalogs. ?
  10. I was off a little on his age. Hopefully when he does retire someone younger will take over his business. He has done quite well for a small cottage business.
  11. Check out the R&M users Group on Facebook. There are some links to Fotki pages that show items and some price lists. Norman is 69 and he can be reached by landline, email or snail mail - he never had a website and never will.
  12. Thanks,. These wheels were a pain in the butt to paint too.
  13. I cannot believe I used the kit plug wires. What was I thinking. ?. Here's the one i built in the 90's.
  14. You did a great job with a bad kit. You did not mention the backwards windshield wipers either. I built one and that was one too many. I've never seen anyone cut the roof off this kit but it might be an improvement.
  15. Thtat's good. I'm still plugging away on the "II" but am waiting for a few more parts to arrive to build it factory stock. Since this is extended I also should knock out some others since I still have a bunch of bodies already painted.
  16. Very nice restomod although I think it has too many mufflers.?
  17. Are these 1/43 scale? ?. I remembered a wrecker and a few others that scale that were pretty cool. 1/24 or 1/25 just seems to dang big to me (for a truck or trailer). I guess not having a scale bias makes me weird.?
  18. Welcome. Spend at least as much time building as you do on the forum. ?
  19. Fantastic looking build. I can only imagine the possibilities if Tamiya did kits of older american cars.
  20. Some of the pages of the catalog that year.
  21. Cool. Thanks. Picture from Facebook.
  22. That's a much improved chassis for the old promo based 55 year old kit.
  23. I love factory stock Mustangs and your model. Did you use the old Testors spray can (which is obsolete) or another brand using perhaps an airbrush? I always thought it was strange Ford picked a dark metallic color as one of four colors for 69 Boss 302's since while it is beautiful it just does not "pop" like the grabber yellow and orange do.
