  1. I like it. I saw this kit not long ago, and wanted to get it. Though, not at the price most people want for it. They're a beautiful car. Got to see one in Charleston not too long ago.
  2. These weren't bad kits. The hard top looks a lot better than the convertible. The vert has a slightly curved body and a slightly sloping hood. Doesn't quite look right.
  3. Looks good except for the top. I'd shop around and see if you could find a better fitting one. Maybe from the Chevelle kit or 72 Olds kit.
  4. That somehow makes a 78 look like a cool car. Good job!
  5. Stop getting hopes up, I'd kill for the kit.
  6. Excellent color choice. You always see them in white and never another color.
  7. For the interior, the dash and steering wheel were the only things black. Can't say about the console as mine was a column shift automatic with a trans brake designed for racing. I can add the carpeting came in several colors. The one in mine was red. There's a few sights out there that contain a wealth of information on theses cars. You may just type 69 Chevelle into a search engine and see what you can find. BY the way the car looks pretty good.
  8. Not a bad kit when finished. It was pretty easy to build and looks pretty good when completed. By far one of the better AMT models. SAM_2540 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
  9. It was pretty good, just a minor fit issue with the hood. I hate the directions though. Over all, not quite the quality of a Revell model, but a lot better than an AMT.
  10. Very nice. Matches my 58
  11. Looks a lot better than the one I got. Have to go back and re-paint mine.
  12. Looks good
  13. Fantastic job. Looks very cool.
  14. He did do a really good job and you should be proud. My dad got me started at a young age as well, but I had to learn everything myself. I actually find the pre-war cars a bit harder to build because there's a lot more pieces that go into them, the running board fit has to be just right with the body, and the also have a lot of small components that have to be just right for the rest of the pieces to sit on right. I love the finished products, but they are a pain to work on. If he can make something that nice, then he can build anything in my opinion. If you have an Ollie's near you I'd suggest shopping for some cheap models to work on. They have a good selection and the models are in the $5-20 range as opposed to the $25-30 shops outlets are charging now. It's a good way to get practice in without spending a lot of money.
  15. He did a really good job. He may rival me as a brush painter. You might break out some toothpicks and show him how to paint the windshield, door handles, and other trim. Maybe square off the paint on the wheel cover. It would make a good learning experience in detailing. Something I had to learn on my own through trial and error over the years.
  16. Looks a lot better than mine. I found one on Ebay a few years ago. It was built, but unpainted. However, they put the decals on it and I've debated whether or not to paint the model because those stripes are raised.
  17. Looks good, just picked one up myself
  18. Looks better than mine. Right now I'm waiting on another 70 Cuda kit. Stupid hurricane delayed its arrival. Ironically, it was due the day the storm hit.
  19. Um, I'd take Revell over any other model maker any day of the week. They at least know how to make a model that looks like the car they are trying to sell.
  20. Matches the one I did awhile back and never posted. I really thought they could have done a better job with the kit.
  21. This was always one of my favorite kits. Highly detailed, lots of decals, and the ability to make it Hurst or stock; the kit had everything you could want! SAM_2414 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_2407 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_2403 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
  22. Hey Eric, what did you get for Christmas? ME: Broke!
