  1. These kits are always fun but I struggle to make them a little different from ones I've built before. This time I lowered the body a little and hogged out the windows. New shocks and some different nerf bars all around with Testors paint and decals from the parts box.
  2. A simple AMT kit that I got at a swap meet many years ago. It was missing some parts (steering wheel, all the exhaust pieces) and no decals so had to come up with that. Otherwise just a lot of detail painting to make it look decent. Testors dark blue.
  3. Great car, model, job, driver.....You get what I'm saying. Enjoyed looking at this. Thanks for sharing.
  4. The Henry J looks like a typical Revell Gasser kit but I'll get one.
  5. I always liked the Zingers but this is above and beyond the old original kits. Nice work!
  6. Glad you shared this as it's so fun to look at. The imagination and talent to create it is something he should of been proud of.
  7. For a first time diorama you nailed it! Everything from the base to the accessories to the work being performed is perfectly done. Cars, truck, everything. Nice job!
  8. Last night while watching the SRX series race our local channel cut in with "Breaking News" to tell us it's hot. First of all, I hate the over-used "Breaking News" title because it isn't. If a freeway is shutdown or a major incident is causing a problem for the public and it can inform us of this; fine. But most of us have cell phones that can instantly tell us the temp or we can just step outside and know it's hot. I emailed the station this morning with my complaint and told them I won't be watching their news coverage in the future.
  9. That's my motto! Or I make the wife go get it.
  10. Here's one for ya. Ordered a couple of models from Hobbylink Japan on June 17th and got the package on June 22nd. Japan! All the horror stories we have trying to get our packages ordered and delivered within the states and I get this in 5 days. Amazing. I have a subscription to Motorsport magazine from England and still haven't got my June issue. Been like that the past year.
  11. I'm not a golfer. Played 2 or 3 times in my life with brother-in-law and his family. I'm Happy Gilmore in that I could tee off straight and long and then putt 3 or 4 times trying to get it in the hole. Anyway, this older guy with us heaved his club after a bad tee off and it was the funniest thing I ever witnessed playing golf. Never forgot it. He did throw it in the direction we were headed so guess it wasn't the first time he's done this.
  12. Excellent! Even after reading what you used to create this it's still hard to believe it's not real. Amazing skills you have.
  13. I agree with everyone's comments! Enjoyable to look at!
  14. Smoke alarm going berzerk at 5 am today. Of course it's the one in our upstairs bedroom with a vaulted ceiling so I have to run out to the garage and get the ladder. Luckily I'm up early in the morning but the wife is still asleep. Unhooking the alarm I see a little spider run across it so guessing that's what set if off. One of our dogs gets really upset when this happens and pants and shakes and it takes a while to calm her down. The other dog just watches the activities.
  15. Great job on this model and nice to look at one built so well. I tried building one of these when I was young and eventually tossed it. Tried another one when I was older and more experienced and either tossed it or probably gave it away at a swap meet.
  16. Yes, thank you for all the work involved to keep things going. I appreciate anyone who gives up their own time so I and others can have the pleasure of this message board.
  17. Thank you for fixing this once again. I'm sure you've got better things to do. Of course today isn't near as bad as yesterday.
  18. Building a Dave Marcis Olive Garden car and first decals I put into water broke into a hundred pieces. Stupid me for not clear coating but didn't know that would happen. Not finding any decals available except for ebay and I've never done business with them and prefer to find some elsewhere. Anyone have some leads? Thank you for your help.
  19. Noticed that today also and some of them are superimposed on the pages so you can't read the subjects.
  20. Always enjoy all the cars shown here and a bit of humor is fun too.
  21. Looks real nice and good for you finding something else to build.
  22. Always liked Ken Schrader and this truck and your model looks great.
  23. I like these rear tires. Good and solid. Noticed something funny in the instructions where some colors are listed for the parts and some aren't. Not that they are always correct but just strange why only partially listed.
  24. Tamiya spray paint has always been great for me in the past. I'm not the greatest painter but it makes me look like I am. Lately two different colors have gone on the body perfect as usual with a nice gloss. After it dries there's some semi-gloss areas. I tried spraying another coat on a hood and the exact same result happened. I'm not one to use clear on bodies but wondering if I should try that. Never had to before. Sorry, no pictures.
  25. Funny follow up on the tires in this kit. Emailed Revell of Germany and said I didn't like the warped soft 2 piece tires and I have managed to use their 2 piece tires in the past but these aren't working. Got a reply saying "Sorry, extra parts and decals are no longer available for this kit". First of all I wasn't expecting a replacement and 2nd, the kit just came out and you have nothing available?! Ok then. btw, I have lots of extra tires in boxes too but nothing matches the size of the van tires.
