  1. Those look like steel wheels with hubcaps.
  2. Interesting--that's the ONE original Vette sheet that's NOT on the Drastic Plastic site. I do have an unbuilt kit, though, so I should check the actual box. Thanks!
  3. Speaking for myself, dozens, apparently (so far).
  4. If you mean squirrels, I had them myself a few years back. In researching how to "get rid" them, I discovered that there is no throwing them out or running them off--once they've moved in, they are "home" and they will NEVER leave. There are only two alternatives: Kill them, OR trap them and release them AT LEAST ten miles away, so they can't find their way home. Good luck with your furry problem.
  5. Very. VERY cool! I'd like to do that little-remembered car. Personally, I'd love to do his earlier BOWANI II '65-'66 Mustang Ultra Stock/match racer.
  6. He wasn't too shabby with Big Blocks, either.
  7. I just went back through all the old AMT instruction sheets and couldn't find that hood. Did it maybe come from an early MPC Corvette, or perhaps even a custom of some kind? I like it a lot and would like to try to find one if possible.
  8. Definite small block in the Vega. I'll try to find the book tomorrow and see if there's any pics of the engines in there. But I don't recall Grump every getting particularly fancy with valve covers, I think he mainly used simple stamped stuff. But at this point he might have used something like Morosos.
  9. You'd think one of the first-class resin shops like Motor City would repop the '68-'70 Javelin. But I don't think I've ever seen one (aside from funny car bodies, and the Jimmy Flintstone '70 Trans Am, body shell only).
  10. Today my "home" Rite Aid had the Welly '68 4-4-2 in red (I already have a blue one), and the '63 Corvette in light metallic blue (I just today finished Snake-Fu-ing my new red one), and the '65 Riv in red (I already have them in silver and blue), so, sadly, I walked out empty-handed.
  11. I did in fact get the 2003 BMW Z4 finished Saturday afternoon, but didn't get around to finishing up the '63 Corvette until today. Two more for the 2019 Finished List.
  12. As apparent ringmaster of this circus I am awarding an HONORARY COMPLETED to Can Con for his '67 Bonneville. He enrolled the car in Round 2 but unfortunately not for Round 3 (unless I missed a post--if so, someone tell me). It's great to see it completed, one way or the other. GOTTER DONE!
  13. Very, VERY cool project! I too would like to build a model of this very car, as Dyno Don ran it on the match circuit in 1969 as he and Jenkins, Sox, Landy, and others created Pro Stock. I really need this one to tell that story. If anyone knows if decals are available, I'm interested.
  14. Not true. The '71-'74 style (I"m not sure which year) was reissued through the '80s.
  15. Very VERY way hella most excellent cool! LOVE those '67 Ponchos and you did a great job of it--you are a true Glue Bomb Hero! Well done and model on!
  16. Very nice, and that's exactly the color combo I'm using on mine if and when I ever get around to finishing it.
  17. This is the coolest thing I've seen all day (and your old one is way-cool too). Great concept and perfect execution! I've been collecting original AMT '63-'67 Vettes and parts for over a decade now, and thought I had at least "one of everything" but I've never seen that hella cool hood before, so good for you on that! VERY well done and model on!
  18. As the number denotes the height to width ratio, the letter kind of defines both.
  19. Be still my heart! Here I am trying to save/recover three or four of them that are in horrendous shape.
  20. PLEASE tell me you're not even THINKING of building that nice, rare '65 Chevelle AWB body in that outrageous, unrealistic, illegal stance. PLEASE tell me it's just random parts that happen to be sitting together.
  21. It's immune to outside problems, but they can have their own, especially in their reception from the satellites or wherever they get their signal from. Seen it many times. Yes, contact the cable company.
  22. Rubbing compound won't take the superglue smears off. I'd recommend using 600 or 800 Wetordry sandpaper, WET, and WITH A SANDING BLOCK, and as soon as you get it off, you can stop and buff out the paint with the rubbing compound. The paint on these diecasts is tough and pretty thick, so it shouldn't be a problem if you're careful.
  23. Does he have cable or satellite? If so, his problems could be with the cable company or satellite reception. I have cable and have occasional problems not unlike those you're describing, and they're the cable co's fault, not my TVs.

  25. I got one of these last week after seeing one in person--it looks a lot better in 3D than the pictures. I'm hoping to lay my Snake-Fu on it today (or at least this weekend) and get it on the shelf. It's not my favorite Welly, but I think it IS my favorite diecast '63 Vette--and I have three different kinds now.
