Nothing will ever happen except that they'll always come thisclose, only to end up with ungatz at the end of each episode. This is a common string-the-viewer-along gimmick used by similar shows, such as the ones about Sasquatches, Aliens and Nazi Gold to keep you coming back for more. ?

Mattel VacuForm guidance?
SfanGoch replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you have a dental unit, the 4"x 8" sheets aren't going to work. Here is the link for the Vac-U-Form upgrade parts . You can also check ebay for the clear sheets. If the hand pump isn't providing enough vacuum, you can attach a vacuum cleaner hose to the tube at the bottom of the machine. -

Gene Rodenberry described Star Trek as a "space Western" I thought of the show in the same way watching it as a kid. Rodenberry had a background in television Westerns, writing scripts for Have Gun - Will Travel, Bat Masterson and others; so, it wasn't a stretch to incorporate Western-style storylines into Star Trek, too.

Tom Seaver, the Greatest N.Y. Met player, dead at 75
SfanGoch posted a topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
This is a really sad day for Mets and baseball fans everywhere. Tom Terrific truly was "The Franchise". Mets and the baseball world mourn the death of Tom Seaver -
I highly recommend Revell enamel and acrylic paints. I have about 150 tins of Revell Email (enamel) paints that I bought in Germany back in the early 1980s and they're still good. They are similar to the old Humbrol enamels. One coat covering, with little to no brush strokes, with a brush and they also airbrush well. I also have about two dozen containers of the Aqua Colours acrylic paints I purchased from modelsforsale.com. These acrylic paints are not what most are accustomed to when you think of acrylic model paints. They are fairly viscous, similar to artist acrylic paints in tubes. That said, I like them. Thin them with water, alcohol or acrylic paint thinner from any other manufacturer. Airbrushing is great. They level well and don't hide details.

Oy gevalt! I don't understand why you guys prefer to do it the hard way as opposed to simple. Just get Testors ELO. Unlike brake fluid or Purple Shmurple, it's specifically formulated to remove paint. And, unlike products containing lye, it won't dissolve your skin. It'll strip the paint off in twenty minutes or so. Like Dale pointed out, there's no need to submerge the parts in a vat of stuff for hours or days. I've stripped hot lacquer sprayed directly on unprimed styrene with it.

You preach to empty pews, Pete. Short of the plating process, Easy Chrome is the best and most durable chrome product available. Unfortunately, nobody wants to invest the 140 bucks.

The search function for this board is absolutely useless. As Peteski pointed out, you end up having to wade through numerous pages of totally unrelated "matches" before maybe finding what you were looking for. You'll get more specific search results by typing "site:modelcarsmag.com modelhaus" in your google search bar. BTW, checking the Google search results, there aren't a lot of discussions specifically related to what's going on with the equipment anywhere in this board.

I asked the very same question on FB about two years ago. The response was the requisite and expected corporate doublespeak: This is a hoot: Well, they weren't; so, why bother making such an inane statement in the first place. Ask a simple question and receive a dog and pony show in return. What the hell does George Toteff and sliding tool technology have to do with what I asked?!? Just another example of how these guys think that we're nothing more than jelly-brained idiots who'll believe them just because they said so. ?

I missed another complete kit on ebay about three weeks ago that was available for $70. No sooner did i mention it to someone during a phone conversation, the listing was pulled. I scour Johan listings daily. Good deals are to be found regularly. You just have to be diligent.

Yeah, they are toys. That I have purchased them doesn't mean I get burned on shipping costs just to get them immediately, if not sooner, because I'm impatient. It is a waste of money if you're willing to pay possibly more than half , or more, of the total value of the merchandise just to get it fast. This might come as a revelation; but, paying less for shipping means I have more money to buy other things. I paid only 23bucks shipping from Hobby Easy in HK for two very large AFV kits and a pile of aftermarket items. I've paid that much for shipping from stateside online stores for parcels of similar size. I also bought a single aircraft kit (Academy 1/48 U2-S) from a South Korean store and shipping was four bucks. I ordered it on March 23 and received it on March 29. Six days.

What was that for, a pallet of kits? If it was for just a couple, it was an absolute waste of money. Model kits are not essential or absolutely indispensable items which need to be delivered like yesterday. They're toys. ? I've ordered and received numerous model kits and other items from China/Hong Kong on ebay during the last six months and haven't experienced any unnecessarily long wait times. The longest was two weeks. Same with orders from BNAModelWorld in Australia. My wallet wasn't rifled for shipping charges, either. As a matter of fact, I had to wait over a month and a half for a kit being sent from Denver. It was languishing at the Jersey City Regional Sorting Facility for most of that time before it finally arrived in Rockaway Park, NY.

Do you build or follow armor, sci-fi or other genres as much as you do car models? I do. There was a short slowdown by, for example, Chinese military kit manufacturers in February; there still were releases during that period. In mid March, Chinese and European kit and aftermarket manufacturers were essentially back to business as normal. Check out Armorama's website and you'll see new kit and/or aftermarket announcements almost every day from February to the present. Voyager, E.T. Model, Black Dog, CMK and a whole lot of other Asian and European aftermarket companies kept announcing and releasing new products during that time.

Remember this release list AMT put out back in 2007?

Very impressive list. -
We got a real Sicilian pie (none of that Domino/Papa John/Pizza Hut cardboard coated with ketchup and shredded processed cheese c_rap) with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and double anchovies.

An open can of Spam requires refrigeration. Otherwise, it develops mold and can escape.

It's a meat species related to Spam. Great fried or grilled.

Pork roll aka Taylor Ham.

I understand what you are saying, Tim; and, I agree. However, the dearth of new automotive models, when compared to what is produced and released in other genres by essentially the same manufacturers, says a lot as to how insignificant these manufacturers must consider the car modeling customer base to be.
