  1. i havea couple of laptops. they were cheap ones but they did everything i needed them to do til now. It looks like i'll have to get a better spec cos there aint much difference between a faster ram and graphics card and a new laptop in terms of cost.
  2. Italy provided many prisoners during ww2 and they built all the local causeways (and a beautiful chapel) that we now use as roads
  3. are there 3 dots showing on the right end of the address bar near the star? if there is click them and it will give you the option to return the screen to 100% size
  4. yes but i've been learning on lychee and i like how it works/displays. The included slicer i found not as nice to use. I think the problem is my laptop not being specced enough. I can get it to work until the slicing starts, then it crashes if the layers are 0.01 but works on 0.05. I'm looking into upgrading or replacing my laptop now.
  5. lychee, it worked all last week when i was practising setting up for 3d printing and yeaterday and today it takes a dump. After using it for a week it now decided my graphics card is no use. Stupid 3d printing, i may as well have head butted a wall, it would have been just as productive
  6. how do you guys get lychee to work. i get a file loaded and it crashes every time. I've tried multiple files but every time it crashes. I've tried both computers, with nothing else running but it just wont play nice. I just want to do my first print. i've tried reinstalling and updating but nothing is working. is there another free program that works? I'm happy to buy the program when i get comfortable with printing but right now all i want to do is print something. it was working finefor the past week until i set up the printer today
  7. From the look of it only the hood will be any use. The engine in that is a flathead, the front is totally different and the rear looks to be much shorter and narrower so its probably not the same either. One of the revell deutz tractors would be more likely to give you a similar rear end as they dont use the 3 point linkage and I dont see it on the pic. I'd love to see more pics if you have any, especially the v12 one behind
  8. I fixed my bug paint job with a very similar technique but since it was on the windscreen header I made a loose box for over the roof and cut a piece of paper to fit over the hood and through the screen opening. It turned out well, even though it was hok pearl. You can also half roll masking tape along the edges if its not on a panel line, eg for a soft edge on a 2 tone paintjob or repair similar to yours on larger areas or for painting at a higher pressure
  9. ex drummers often have hearing difficulties
  10. your best bet is a search on scalemates for the box you remember. Also I know i've found toys i had as a kid that were much smaller than i remebred them being so search other scales too. it might take a bit of time searching but start with indy car or race car and it should narrow it down a bit and save you some time. the dates on scalemates can be innacurate too so be general with those. It not that scalemates is bad, its a great reference for boxes and brands, but being user generated a lot of the facts can be wrong. good luck finding the kit
  11. I'm looking after my sisters cat while she's away in the pacific visiting rapa nui and walking the inca trail. The cats still on meds after getting hit by a car back at the start o the year. I was reading the instructions for the meds and it turns out i have to make sure the cat doesn't drive or operate heavy machinery.
  12. is there something electrical draining the battery? even something little can kill a bettery pretty quickly. to find out if there is something drainng the battery you can pull one fuse each night then usse the wiring diagram to see whats on the fuse the night it happens to see the battery drain. It might take a few nights but its by far the quickest way to find a battery drain without special tools or putting it in a shop. just because the lights work, it doesn't mean the battery is good, lights take next to no power but cranking takes the full 12v
  13. try clicking the forgot password link on the log in page, i used to get that message all the time when i used facebook and it seemed to fix it.
  14. there seems to have been a bad period for bmf during the last couple of years. it either arrived full off wrinkles or the glue wouldn't stick both of which made it unusable. from posts recently it seems you have to order direct from them to be sure of the good stuff. i had a sheet of it turn black on me but polished up again, but t didn't stick.
  15. (re)wind your neck in (translated into plain english cos the scottish way would get me banned, lol) is a phrase used in scotland to say your talking nonsense
  16. theres a lot more people building since we all had to stay home for months and i expect many of those have continued to build since getting out again. i know local to me the military kits (all that available locally) are very down on their normal stock. paint and thinners are rarely in stock now and sell out the day they arrive
  17. clocks are considered tools of oppression by some hunter/getherer native tribes of the world
  18. I put off decals for the same reason. When i did my escort i used decal solution and it went much better. you could try poking a hole in the bubble with a pin or fresh blade then use some decal solution on it. it should suck the decal down when it dries and the hole will let the air out
  19. fool me once is shame on me, fool me twice is shame on you
  20. I've not given it a go but you might find the earlier versions of the kit that were more stock appearing to save yourself a load of work
  21. rhyme is more important in music than poetry, no matter what my english teacher thinks
  22. In the uk we'd call that triggers brush, its in an episode of only fools and horses where trigger got an award for still having the same brush after 20 years
  23. nothing, it was destoyed in a 140 mph fire in 2016 while preparing for pikes peak. only the name is original now
  24. models of the plastic variety really mess with googles advertising algorythyms
