I built this not long after i returned to the hobby in 2014. The paint is humbrol polished steel metaliser applied by brush. Its the revell kit and other than losing the fenders is box stock. Its due for a rebuild at some point after suffering some damage when I dropped it and my roadster. Iy has plenty of flaws the biggest of which is the upside down valve covers and oversized distributer

Couple of squarebody questions
stitchdup replied to stitchdup's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have the recent 76 sport kit which I'll be using for the build. I think I'll do a mix of those stripes and the 2 tone stepside in Vietnam Vet67's last post as between them I'm sure I can come up with something that looks almost stock but subtly custom. It shouldn't be too bad to do in paint either and would use up some of my cans that wouldn't do a full paint job -

Thankyou sir, I'll try something with one of the multi colour stripe options instead -
I'm shortly going to be building a revell squarebody stepside in something of a squarebody syndicate style. I'd like to do it in stockish two tone paint but I'm struggling to find what they did stock on the rear fenders and bed sides as all my searches bring up mostly custom painted versions. I'm using the recent revell 76 4x4 kit. I'm also curious if any of the other kit versions came with 2 bucket seats in place of the bench in this kit, or had detailed door panels as the kit i have is just flat panels with no detail whatsoever. Also are the fuel tanks different on the 2wd trucks? on a quick mock up of the chassis and body I found they hang below the body line so would putting them behind the seat like on the earlier trucks be semi realistic? My aim is to have something that has a near stock body and paint but is slammed to the ground with plenty of mods underneath the skin. I'm no very up on American vehicles so any help would be greatfully received.

Issue 207 Is In the House!!!
stitchdup replied to Danno's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've taken out a sub but I was after the deadline for issue 207 so will be starting with 208. I would also like to purchase a copy of 207 if possible as I saw no option for back issues in the subs section -
You can ask the moderators to do that for you, or add a post at the end saying no longer available. The edit feature doesn't last for long once you create a post

Selling Car Model Kits on eBay
stitchdup replied to dwdirks's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
the international shipping is only worth doing on large lots imo. I almost bought a set of resin caps until i saw ebay wanted $75 for shipping, yet a lot of 20 kit shipped for $80. Both were from the us to scotland and the same region. Just now I tend to buy from australia on ebay as the exchange rate is pretty favourable in my direction and shipping isn't much more than inside the uk -

have you looked at dolls house hinges? they are available in 1/24 and some of the door ones look just like those you've shown -

Fun night on the boat i work on, about an hour after i started we lost all but 2 lines aloing with our shore power cable. I was onboard by myself for about an hour and a half after until the local pilot boat manged to get alongside and put a small crew on. I'm usually the nightwatch/cleaner but so i really didn't have any idea what to do. we're still not back at the pier but at least we now have power again and there are folk that know what to do. The boat i work on is a seacat passenger ferry so I was not really in any danger even if it went ashore but it i was still extremely stressed over it as its a lot of responsibility if it did go ashore. We have the local lifeboat on standby just in case anything else goes wrong tonight

I've said that many times, but last year I got rid of my tv to make space for more kits and still had to add more shelving. Currently I have them stacked to the roof and under anything that has space for a kit. In my deffence, the past year was different as i was working a lot more so spending it on kits for when my wages drop was like me planning ahead
