No. The Chevy kit wheels are slightly concave, the Coronet Cragar GTs are convex, like most other Cragars. The wheels in question are now in the '76 Caprice kit for the trailer, but just 2 of them. [with different backs, of coarse]

Probably got tired of some of the members on here picking out stuff on his perfect builds and moved on. It happens from time to time on any board. I should add that this is just a guess. I have no knowledge of the man or what he's doing apart from what I seen him post here.

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
Can-Con replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner David, I was out of town on vacation. Anyway, it's the orange biplane with the white stripes. -
Yes, Thank you for posting all those pics. It's a definite asset to the board that you do these. It's going to be an incredible kit.

That's what I've been using for decades now. Much thicker than the spray can, almost a jell so it stays on the parts and bodies better , , and a lot less fumes to try to avoid.

I've always wanted to try my hand at something like this , ,

Candy Brandywine...
Can-Con replied to Straightliner59's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thomas, I think what you mean is "candy orange" and "candy yellow" "Candy" just means it's a transparent paint and the "brandywine" is the actual color ?? -
Candy Brandywine...

Here's true, real House of Color "Candy Brandywine" over silver,, and over a darker metallic grey, kind of a metallic charcoal.. -
California Sunshine show truck questions
Can-Con replied to Faust's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, actually Adam, that's basically exactly what those trucks were. Maybe I didn't make myself clear. When I say "There were probably hundreds of those kits sold" What I'm saying is this was a body kit for the real 1/1 trucks. The pics on the box was probably from the brochure for the kit for the real truck. That's why all the pics on the net look like different trucks, because most of them are different trucks. -
Revell Boss 302 questions
Can-Con replied to customline's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't think the 1/4 glass on the real cars open but I'm sure someone with more experience with them will chime in later. I do know the things you ask about the kit come from the two versions originally released. Both of these kits have been released several times since first issues back in the late '80s. -
Full fendered AMT '29 Ford Roadster [Dec 30 update]
Can-Con replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Cars
OK, so I filed some off the top of the front springs. Dropped it down some but I may still see if I can tweak that crossmember a bit in the future, As you can see in this pic, the rear axel is no where near where it needs to be to center the tires in the openings. I cut the rear of the frame off at the drop and added some gussets. I may have to redo that to get the axel lower still but I'm going away for a few days so it'll have to wait until next week. -
I would think they would go in the "all the rest" section.

Agreed, it should have an a power steering pump and a Quadrajet carb but aside from that, it's a well detailed engine with a lot of separate parts. I've always considered it, along with the MPC Elcamino and Chevy pickup engines to be some of the best SBC engines available. I've found that the difficult part of the kit is the underhood area though because of how the firewall, windshield and sides of the body where it all comes together is kinda tricky to get right.
-
I can't see it not. All the other issues of this kit and the '79 had it.
-
What's wrong with the engine, John?
-
Great save Ken. Always nice to see something like that brought back to life instead of just being trashed.
-
That actually looks pretty good. The diagonal color separation reminds me of the MPC '68-'69 annual box art.

Full fendered AMT '29 Ford Roadster [Dec 30 update]
Can-Con replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It's Tamiya black spray TS-14 airbrushed on over Duplicolor charcoal grey primer. -
No offence taken Craig. I've been called wrong so many times when I know I'm right and had done my research before opening my mouth that's it's now just a "knee-jerk reaction" to show my reference material when I'm responding to the "challenge", as it were. ,,And of course, I am wrong sometimes too and I admit when I have made a mistake. ?

The OTHER Model A coupe-old school Monogram custom
Can-Con replied to pack rat's topic in Model Cars
Looks "period perfect". I'm sure Monogram would have done it exactly like that. -
California Sunshine show truck questions
Can-Con replied to Faust's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just noticed it says on the box that it was designed by Harry Bradley, the guy who designed the original "Sweet 16" HotWheels. -
California Sunshine show truck questions

It probably isn't, Patrick. Remember, the flares, grille, etc. was sold as kits. The one on the box was probably one done up by the vendor for publicity, trade shows and the like same as a SEMA car or truck would be today. There were probably hundreds of those kits sold, maybe a few dozen actually ended up used on a vehicle.
