Wow! Great Build, from the great 1950's era of Space Flight! More from the 1950's. https://fantastic-plastic.com/1950s---concept-spacecraft.html -

I dis walk out of the Burt Reynolds/ Dolly Parton Picture, "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas". I foolishly thought, "It's Got Burt AND Dolly! How bad can it be?" 35 minutes later I got up and walked out......... -
Dang that looks, Great! I really like the Steelies and the Green Colour!

"ALL NEW 1971 front end parts, NEW chrome wheels" The Screen Shot is too blurry to really make out much. But, I'll always defer to Rex-Vamach1about Mustang stuff. I'll wait until he has this kit in his hands, and has reported back to us, before judging this new kit.

Luggage of the Gods. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luggage_of_the_Gods! Worse than the Wiki Description by a long shot. To add insult to injury, my wife (who'd never seen it, I'd seen it before we got married) rented it two different times about 5 years apart, despite my protests. Low Budget does not begin to Cover the Awful! And this One! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nothing_but_Trouble_(1991_film) So bad, that my wife and I joke that Aykroyd used to pay people to go to video stores and buy copies, just so they could take them home and burn them! This is the Worst Movie I've ever seen. -
I hear you, James. One Thing though. After spending over 10 years in the trucking industry, I have to say, I've seen about Six LoneStar trucks in person. I had to go lookup photos of the ProStar to refresh my memory. I've never seen One of them, except in photos. That may help explain the Sell-Through Issue. The W900 is still selling in huge numbers. The company I work for bought 9 of them in 2019, and 11 so far this year. And they were a small carrier. They bough 6 Petes too, all Classic Long Nose trucks. I think a new tool W900 would sell. Given all the Sleeper and chassis variations that could be built into the tool from the beginning, a modular approach (like is now done with Modern Armor and Airplane Kits) could yield a plentiful number of sales options. Done right, even the Slope Nose & Heavy Haul Trucks could be done off the same Chassis/ Engine tooling. I do agree with you on the costs of developing Modern tooling. But, the 750,000.00 investment will Payoff. Just not in 5 years. However, Neither Revell or Round2 maybe able to justify a commitment that takes 10-15 years (at a minimum) to pay for itself.

Ron, only advice I have about Carpal Tunnel. Try make sure that the Dr. who does the surgery, does lots of them. Some Hospitals or Insurers will try to have a Dr. who does 4 or 5 a year do your surgery, because he's cheaper. Don't let them do this to you. You want a Dr. who does C.T. surgery every week. AS you know, no two surgeries are alike. A Dr. who has done hundreds is far more likely to be able to handle any "issues" that arise, than a Dr. who does only a few a year. The Surgeon who repaired my Uncles Botched First C.T. surgery told him that after fixing the first surgeon's lousy work. Stick to your guns about who does the work. Your Ins. Co. wants fast and cheap. Don't let them bulldoze you. If it gets Botched, you'll be the one who is Crippled, not the Claims Guy (or Gal).

amt 1202 1/25 AMT 1963 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon - Craftsman Plus
stavanzer replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Ugh, what an un-attractive, Mis-shapen mess. Modern "Pro-Whatever" changes to classic 1960's cars, almost always result in these Garish, Giant Wheeled Back births. The Paint, IMHO, is too bright, and brings to mind a Retro Eighties, Posie style paint job. The rear wheels/tires just look Silly. As Silly as the Low Rider Donk Wheels. The whole car has no taste, no real unifying theme. A solid Black or Red Paint job, would work better in my opinion. A smaller hood bulge would help to eliminate some of the cartoon goofiness that characterizes the car as it sits now. That said, this is obviously a Labor of Love, by a guy with Buckets of of money.- 599 replies

Charlie, hit me off the board. I can get you the stock Monogram Model A coupe.

C'mon, Jimmy! I'm still waiting to see this on the shelves. Maybe it will be on sale before I get a new job.

And, I've would have been Okay with the Automated Email. I've collected dozens of those. But this was Clear Face to Face Interview, with a Verbal Promise that I was one of 2 contenders, and that based on the strength of my interview, they'd be sure to let me know. No one wants to ( or is able to) tell the truth anymore.

What the!!!? is that?

Got Blown off by a Nationally Known Company today for a Job I applied for. International 8.9 Billion Dollar Company. I interviewed two weeks ago. I followed up last Friday. I was told, "Well, we're still interview candidates. We Will let you know something by Wednesday". I hear nothing from them by Wednesday. Decide to give them a couple more days.. I call in today. "We've offered the job to somebody else." So, would they have ever called me to tell me? Of Course not! These Billion Dollar companies are what is killing our country. Rude, Blah, Blahs.

To the Hardcore Tamiya Collector, it may be worth Big Bucks. To everybody else it is 56 year old trash. If you manage to find that Tamiya Collector, it will work out for you. If you can't hookup with "That Guy", then it is basically a "Shelf of Doom" kit, and will squat in your stash until you give up on it. List it on the 'Bay, and Good Luck. I sincerely hope you find the buyer who's willing to pay a Collector Price for it. -
The Texaco one has been done, mostly. The '41 Chevy P/U. I've got the kit.
-
Yeah, after a long wait, somebody on the board helped me acquire one. It is one of the very few kits that I will keep.
