  1. Sweet roadster. As others have stated, your selection of parts has put together a mighty fine little hot rod.
  2. Four speeds are required in all the Southeast Gasser cars. Got to see them run this past summer at the local 1/8 mile dragstrip. Really awesome to see a '66 Plymouth wagon with a 426 max wedge four speed pulling the front tires off the line. Of course he was running Super Stock and not gasser, but still required a four speed.
  3. I have received similar packaging from WalMart. I ordered a package of three magazine holders, the kind that are flat when you buy them, but are folded into holders. A simple sleeve envelope would have been sufficient, however WalMart shipped them in a box much larger than one of those. Makes you wonder who is in charge of their shipping department.
  4. One super little hot rod truck. Beautiful color choice and that BBF should really make it haul. My only suggestion would be to split the flame decals along the door line. A careful cut with sharp X-acto, little bit of micro-set, then some micro-sol should get it to look like they are painted on. Still one mighty fine little hauler.
  5. Just checked my stash, the recent rerelease of the AMT (originally Lindberg) and the Lindberg Don Nicholson 61 Impalas both have the 409 decal.
  6. 1965 Chevelle SS with 327 4-speed in Tahitian turquoise. Had one with a 283, one night after consuming adult beverages and arguing with my soon to be ex-wife jumped a ditch, took out three fence posts and several feet of barbed wire.; didn't do the body work much good. Drove it like that for a while, reenlisted in the USAF bought a new Chevy truck and hauled the Chevelle to my parent's house with the plan on rebuilding it into a stock-class drag car. Time passed, Dad got tired of it sitting behind the house and sold it. Title was in his name so he could do that.
  7. Interior masking is one of the primary reasons my '62 Catalina is still in the box. I really need to get it back out, if I can ever get my basement heaters wired.
  8. Those first two shots almost had me screaming "fraud" then I got the true perspective in the last one. That is one fine build and your eye for photography is outstanding.
  9. That looks about right for a streetable Falcon. Any more motor and you would need serious suspension/wheel/tire upgrades.
  10. My $.02 is to stick with a small-block Ford, the AMT 65 Mustang kit engine should fit with very little trouble. Never understood why they would stick a BBC in this kit anyhow, would have been much better with an in-line 6. As far as color, since you are airbrushing have you looked at the Ceramcoat or other brand acrylics at WalMart, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc? I am sure you can find a mint green that will satisfy your needs.
  11. Yeah, but there is that thing with shipping almost doubling the costs. Besides I like to look at the sides of the box for build options and especially the bottom of AMT boxes to see what the box contains.
  12. 56 Ford would more than likely be steel or cast iron color.
  13. Really love these older custom/stylized kits. Would like to see some of them rereleased. Looking forward to where you are going with this one.
  14. I have just reread this complete post and it seems I did not see anywhere the mention of the Buick Grand National's V-6.
  15. These are all from the early 70's around 72 or 73. Three are some variation of candy red, one is candy green, and the other gloss black. As you can tell I used paint cans as holders for my bodies when I painted. Also notice the middle bottom can is leaking around the bottom. Someday I want to open these cans to see if the paint is any good, and if so shoot it througn my airbrush.
  16. That is one fine looking Super Stocker, very clean build.
  17. I have the Star 53 Ford 4-door, but it is slated for a project of my own. It does not come with an interior; just a body shell minus a hood. But the quality of the body is really nice.
  18. Thanks for that hint, turned my search into the opposite direction. PM sent.
  19. Also glad to help. Looking forward to what you do with them.
  20. Received my order from Galaxie: 38 foot tri-axle fifth wheel trailer and the Long John dragster. Was unimpressed with their shipping charges until I received the package, excellent packaging.
  21. Just came across this one, really like how it turned out. Your weathering is absolutely superb. These old Willys pickups from AMT can be built into some decent rides. Again, thanks for showing us this beauty.
  22. Very cool and original idea. How about some chassis and engine pictures, if you have got that far. The C-cab really adds an attitude to the Jeep body.
  23. Sounds like something we have forgotten how to do - TALK TO EACH OTHER. Noticeable in a restaurant, each family member has their face stuck into some sort of screen. Is common conversation a lost art?
  24. Very good, didn't realize the relationship of car names and our life's drama.
  25. Looks like the roof from a 61 Galaxie might do the job, may need to be shortened a bit though.
