Beautiful long roof racer. Very nice attention to detail. As you, I also miss those days of Modified Production racing.

Looks like a kit-bash with the AMT 33 Willys coupe and the Lindberg 34 Ford Pickup would give you a reasonable facsimile of the body and the pickup box from the AMT 40 Willys should provide the box. Would require a bit of work but seems possible. That is one wicked looking Willys. Also like the looks of your fuel coupe, I've been tinkering on something similar for a few years now.

1972 CHEVY C10(AMT)
TarheelRick replied to yura1961's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Really like the looks of this one. That grille work is beautiful. My first pickup was a brand new '72 C/10 Custom and it was orange, almost a hugger orange. Later ET mags, 650 double pumper, Tarantula manifold, Accel coil and wires, and Cyclone headers dropped the 350 gas mileage from 10 mpg to 8 mpg, no low-end but it did move on the top end. -
Since he was on a military installation it was more than likely required to have seatbelts. My first car was a 1956 Chevy 210 that had been owned by a DOD employee from somewhere in the northern states and it had seatbelts. All that being said I have a soft spot in my heart (head) for early VW's, owned a '67 for awhile in the USAF. Really like how this one is coming together. Your detail work makes a lot of difference in the overall look. Bring on more updates.

Revell VW T2 Bus
TarheelRick replied to martinfan5's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice VW van. As you, I will wait for the camper version, hopefully I will be able to build it similar to the '72 Wesphalia I owned many years ago. -
Two of my favorite words "FORD" and "GASSER" and you have combined both very well, Beautiful Gasser.

Believable wreck. Are you planning on buckling the top, that kind of damage would have put a pretty good kink in the roof sheetmetal. Model on and show us more of your amazing work.

Tiny bubbles in paint
TarheelRick replied to MrMiles's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Another possibility could have been contamination on the frame before painting. Maybe you didn't get it clean enough before painting. Just brain(?) storming here. -
Reminds me of my Flower Power Revell Beetle, another of the '70s fiascoes.

Some crazy bidding on MPC One Arm Bandit!
TarheelRick replied to peteski's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Price fixing and price gouging are more than likely quite common in the upper price ranges of our hobby. -
Sweet little GTO. Real nice paint, not too overly glossy, looks more like a factory paint job.

PMC '59 Ford Ranchero: From eBay to Mild Custom; Interior!
TarheelRick replied to John Goschke's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Going to be a very nice looking Ranchero. Sure wish some of these older molds could be found and reissued. -
Wow, where is that old beauty parked, I will come and rescue it. Very nice work.

Beetle Scooter
TarheelRick replied to TooOld's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Yeah, but what do you have for a bit of old age shake? Sweet little scooter. Imagination in modeling is a great thing. -
These kits do build into some really nice looking street machine/racers. I would like to find another one. Like what you have done with this one, especially using the Nova back half.; wish I had thought of that with mine instead of radiusing the wheel-wells.

1963 Chevy Nova Wagon Street Rod FINISHED 3/20/22
TarheelRick replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Not sure about that. As hot as this little piece is going to be the ice cream will probably melt as soon as the grocery cart pulls up beside it. I decided a couple years ago I was not going to buy any more kits - I lied. This one somehow wound up on my doorstep. Looking forward to updates on this killer build. -
Mack LJX dump truck
TarheelRick replied to The Brush's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Mack trucks are the epitome of big rigs, they are so monstrous looking. This one just screams heavy duty. Beautiful build. -
I asked about this one in your diorama post, so glad you posted it. That is some excellent engineering and model work. Beautiful paint and decal work also.

Congratulations on the awards, that is an awesome representation of an iconic car. -
Just tuned into this build and am thoroughly intrigued. A thought about the wheel arches, would it be possible to remove the arches from the T-Bird and splice them into the Lincoln? It appears there are a lot of similarities between the two bodies.

I have to add my magnificent build to this list of praises. You have created a beautiful Mustang and the color fits it very well. My $.04 (adjusted for inflation) is leave the spoiler and rear window louvers off, never was a fan of either.

Just completed a trade with Tom Woodruff "MRNNL", very pleased with parts I got. Will trade again if opportunity arises.
