Amt 34 Ford PU
TarheelRick replied to oldscool's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Can't go wrong with a 34 Ford pickup in any style and this mild custom is way beyond cool. Never would have thought of an Ivory, but it really smokes on this one. -
New Yenko Nova! ???
TarheelRick replied to Venom's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That rear-end reminds me of some I have seen walking through WalMart. Just hoping that is a photo distortion, -
Excellent work, especially like the floorboards. Also impressed with your answer to the ever present tailgater, got a feeling when they see that bumper they will stay a respectable distance. On the same note I would be very careful 'banging' second gear, if your hand slips you could get a real 'bang'.

At Walmart (at least one store)
TarheelRick replied to Classicgas's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Are you sure about that, after all it is already the middle of August. -
1970 Ford F100 (Moebius)
TarheelRick replied to Watertown's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
As the others have stated this is an excellent looking build and really enjoy the color scheme. -
That is a very beautiful Mustang (is that a redundant statement?). Excellent overall appearance. Where did you get the SOHC?

Very nice looking '36. I think since the 1:1 builder sprung for a nice two-tone paint job, he/she (got to be PC) would probably also shell out some cash for a wheel/tire upgrade. Those stockers, with a little bit less shine would be excellent on a fenderless roadster/coupe. Just my thoughts.

Where is #209?

Excellent build, everything about it is right on. This particular model Chaparral is my favorite. Used to race on on the slot track many decades ago.

That's a whole lot of motor in a small truck. Great attention to detail, love the whole build. My eyes would have fallen out doing all those decals.

Another T600!
TarheelRick replied to Rockford's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Looking forward to this build. I have one in the stack waiting its turn. -
109, 110, 112. Wait a minute they missed rivet 111. Hobby or obsession?

What did you see on the road today?
TarheelRick replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I posted these earlier in another thread because I could not find this one. Saw the Nomad parked in front of the courthouse and the "hearse" was in the Hospice parking lot. -
Had to go into local town today to take care of some property tax Issues (oh joy) and saw this parked on the street in front of the courthouse: Then went on into the larger town to do some credit union business. Always stop at SAMS on the way back and pick up a couple of things for the local hospice house. When I stopped there to drop off the items I saw this: Not trying to be disrespectful or crude, but I can't think of a much better way to be taken to your eternal resting place. Overall a pretty good day for car gazing.

Just received my half of a trade with RickyD, very pleased. Now just need to find my bench, if it is still there, and get busy.

That is one massive looking truck. Very nicely done. -
'72 GMC Stepside

A very nice looking truck, really like the way you detail painted the tailgate. Wonderful thing about building models is that you can change wheels/tires and even motors without taking a second mortgage on the house. -
Continuing with the USPS saga. Tracking a trade package, this is what I found on the USPS tracking website: August 3, 2021, 7:44 pmDeparted USPS Regional Destination FacilityGREENSBORO NC NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER Your item departed our GREENSBORO NC NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER destination facility on August 3, 2021 at 7:44 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination. August 3, 2021, 5:57 pmArrived at USPS Regional FacilityGREENSBORO NC NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER August 3, 2021, 12:04 pmDeparted USPS Regional FacilityGREENSBORO NC DISTRIBUTION CENTER August 3, 2021, 9:42 amArrived at USPS Regional FacilityGREENSBORO NC DISTRIBUTION CENTER Notice it departed the GSO facility at 12:04 pm on Aug 3rd, then it arrived at the GSO facility at 5:57 pm on Aug 3rd, and departed again at 7:44 pm. Guess they needed to bring the package back so they could play football with it a couple more hours. This type ineptitude happens quite often at the GSO facility. BTW it did not reach the destination today.

That is one beautifully built MOPAR. Excellent color choice and paint, beautiful interior. But what grabs me most is the outstanding photography. You are a true artist in model building and photography.

I picked up the Revell T-Roadster at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. Someone had carefully cut two connecting corners of the bottom of the box and removed the T Body; the factory cellophane was still on the box. Got a gold mine of parts for $11. Used to go to Michael's quite frequently and look through their shelves, thieves would open a kit remove parts, and put it back on the shelf behind other kits. Anytime I saw one of these kits I would find a worker and have them watch me open it. I got a few full kits for 1/2 price. Did get burned on one, a '67 Chevelle kit, looked to be complete missing tires. Got it home and they had taken the engine parts except for manifold, wheels, and front/rear bumper-grille pieces. Still should be able to build it into a fairly nice short-tracker - I have plenty of NASCAR kits for parts. But, I sure do miss that 40% coupon.
