  1. Wow. As always, stunning paintwork. Are the knife and the paint brush specifically for photos? lolz. Mine were only ever that clean once.
  2. Excellent work! I love the old panel vans. And the newer ones for that matter. A friend of mine is nearing completion on his 1:1 van, in an almost identical colour scheme.
  3. Guys, this is just the new normal.
  4. Maybe the hack job fan shroud? Is that black tape and wire? Holy moly.
  5. I have a few I would LOVE to post, but too many here are far too sensitive. I see making a Jehovah joke doesn't draw any complaints though. Interesting. Maybe I should post the Christian ones I have, and watch the "reported thread" button go on meltdown. ?
  6. I hate reading magazines on my ipad. I used to subscribe to a lot of magazines. And many have gone belly up over the past few years. People just go straight to websites now or blogs for instant reading. Seems like the number of people willing to wait for a monthly to come out is shrinking. I still subscribe to a few though: Practical Classics Grassroots Motorsports Tread Outdoor X4 Guitar World Classic Rock Metal Mania Kerrang! (although this one has temporarily halted print copies until July)
  7. Ahh the akinator. My kids showed me this a few years ago. Took me a while, but I did finally stump it. Wish I could remember who I stumped it with. And whenever I heard the name Akinator, I think of Doofenshmirtz from Phineas & Ferb, and all of his "inators."
  8. Totally agree! But the parachute should only be removed when safe to do so.
  9. Excellent work! And it looks like you nailed the two tone alloy wheel. Those center caps never matched the spokes. Most builds I've seen have them all in one colour.
  10. Awesome build as always! Love the showroom diorama!
  11. Thanks! I'm not a "truck guy" per se, but I find truck kits fun to build.
  12. I normally de-chrome everything! I hate kit chrome, too toy-like in appearance. This is one of the only kits I have not done it on. Just my luck!
  13. Been a while, but I finally got back to the bench this weekend. After a full winter of stacking stuff on my bench and working in the kitchen, I finally cleared the bench and set up my work station again. Chassis assembly is one step closer. Going together very well. I've said it before, but this Revell kit is a massive improvement over the AMT kits I've built. Nothing vague about it. Here's my one complaint though. The chrome sucks. Maybe they cheaped out on the chroming process, maybe it's just because the kit is old, but it flakes off in sheets. And when working on the gas tanks, as soon as my masking tape hit the tank, I knew I had an issue. By that point it was too late. So I said screw it, and just kept going. Molotow chrome pens to the rescue. Turned out okay. As an aside, I think that tanks are poorly designed. Personally, I'd have the seams on the top and bottom, not on the side where they are far more visible.
  14. Was so sad to hear this new yesterday. Operation Inspiration was definitely doing its job. Watched the team do their Edmonton Flyover on Friday afternoon. Still awesome to watch. From all accounts, it appears to be a mechanical failure at take off. Both crew ejected, but altitude wasn't high enough for shutes to deploy.
  15. I'm not into a lot of 60s music, but always liked these guys.
  16. I have the MPC 1985 Corvette on the bench right now. And that is exactly the car I'm building! Well, maybe not exactly. Technically the engine is wrong, but that's fine by me. These are the only generation of Corvette that I really got into, so I love seeing these builds.
  17. You should see some of the other Aussie cars that would confuse people here! Dodge Phoenix anyone?
