  1. Ahh the akinator. My kids showed me this a few years ago. Took me a while, but I did finally stump it. Wish I could remember who I stumped it with. And whenever I heard the name Akinator, I think of Doofenshmirtz from Phineas & Ferb, and all of his "inators."
  2. Totally agree! But the parachute should only be removed when safe to do so.
  3. Excellent work! And it looks like you nailed the two tone alloy wheel. Those center caps never matched the spokes. Most builds I've seen have them all in one colour.
  4. Awesome build as always! Love the showroom diorama!
  5. Thanks! I'm not a "truck guy" per se, but I find truck kits fun to build.
  6. I normally de-chrome everything! I hate kit chrome, too toy-like in appearance. This is one of the only kits I have not done it on. Just my luck!
  7. Been a while, but I finally got back to the bench this weekend. After a full winter of stacking stuff on my bench and working in the kitchen, I finally cleared the bench and set up my work station again. Chassis assembly is one step closer. Going together very well. I've said it before, but this Revell kit is a massive improvement over the AMT kits I've built. Nothing vague about it. Here's my one complaint though. The chrome sucks. Maybe they cheaped out on the chroming process, maybe it's just because the kit is old, but it flakes off in sheets. And when working on the gas tanks, as soon as my masking tape hit the tank, I knew I had an issue. By that point it was too late. So I said screw it, and just kept going. Molotow chrome pens to the rescue. Turned out okay. As an aside, I think that tanks are poorly designed. Personally, I'd have the seams on the top and bottom, not on the side where they are far more visible.
  8. Was so sad to hear this new yesterday. Operation Inspiration was definitely doing its job. Watched the team do their Edmonton Flyover on Friday afternoon. Still awesome to watch. From all accounts, it appears to be a mechanical failure at take off. Both crew ejected, but altitude wasn't high enough for shutes to deploy.
  9. I'm not into a lot of 60s music, but always liked these guys.
  10. I have the MPC 1985 Corvette on the bench right now. And that is exactly the car I'm building! Well, maybe not exactly. Technically the engine is wrong, but that's fine by me. These are the only generation of Corvette that I really got into, so I love seeing these builds.
  11. You should see some of the other Aussie cars that would confuse people here! Dodge Phoenix anyone?
  12. Some people. *sigh* Anyway...
  13. Every year, Jeep build a handful of vehicles for the Jeep Easter Safari. I think that's the event. Anyway, they always build some of the coolest stuff. This one is from 2018. Here are some others.
  14. Protesters in a nutshell. Costco: If you don't wear a mask, you can't shop here. #boycottcostco: Oh yeah? Well if you make us wear a mask, we're not going to shop there! Costco: Thank you, that's what we said. My kind of live stream...
  15. Such a huge influence on rock n roll. Such a huge innovator of rock n roll! I read a story about the origins of Tutti Frutti over the weekend. His original lyrics were a little more...provocative. Heck, modern music would get censored if they tried it, so for him to try that in the 50s? Pretty daring stuff!
  16. He was so good in so many things, but for my generation, he will always be Frank Costanza. "Serenity now!"
  17. Well designed, but I find them very odd looking in person.
