  1. Amazing build! Your attention to detail is second to none. Just...wow.
  2. I have the USPS version on the bench right now. Not building as USPS though.
  3. Happy to see the tanker! Definitely grabbing that one. Been trying to find the Revell tanker for years now.
  4. Now that is pretty gosh darned awesome! Would love to get that out doing some autocrossing or roadracing!
  5. LOVE John Hiatt! Discovered him in the mid-90s, saw him on Austin CIty Limits. Definitely not what I was listening to at the time, but I loved it. Have been a fan ever since. In fact, I think this is the performance that hooked me.
  6. Gutted. Like many, one of my biggest influences. I don't play like him, but his attitude and feel were something I tried to emulate.
  7. What is the point of these little plastic tab things on plastic parts? Placement on kits seems pretty random to me. And why would this window piece require four of them?
  8. I'd place them squarely in rule #5!
  9. For those with kids...
  10. Nah, if it weren't for the GTI, the entire hot hatch movement would never have happened. We would have been left with Trans Ams or Corvettes that had 150hp V8s and weighed 2 tons. The GTI was exactly what engineers from GM did back in the 60s. They took their run of the mill family car, the Rabbit/Golf, and gave it a hotter engine, better transmission, better brakes, better suspension, and some trim upgrades. Rabbit is to GTI like LeMans is to GTO.
  11. I'll buy one of the GTIs. Unlike many, I could not care less about cars from the 50s. The 80s were my generation, and the GTI is one of the more iconic cars from the 80s. I have the old ESCI kit. It's nicely detailed, and looks more accurate than the Revell kit from a few years ago.
  12. lolz, that is the EXACT part that was missing on the 454SS kit I just finished! Had to rob the parts stash. Luckily, I had one. Paintwork looks excellent!
  13. Well, if Dr Malcolm is involved, maybe this is a little more appropriate in this case!
  14. Interesting that no one has complained yet that the body of this kit is entirely inaccurate. It's so obvious that the upper lip of the cup doesn't look anything like he real thing. I mean, when is someone going to do kit an accurate noodle cup?
  15. I mean, I like obscure and different subject matter, but this? And it's not even a prank. It's real. https://www.hlj.com/1-1-scale-best-hit-chronicle-cup-noodles-bans60591
  16. Not sure what the thought process was on those grilles. I don't mind them so much on the M cars, but on the standard car, with chrome trim, it's horrid. Which is too bad, because I like the rest of the car. For me, the 90s were the pinnacle of BMW design. The e36 3-series, e34 5-series, e39 5-series, e38 7-series. Those cars all still look great today. These new vehicles will look dated very quickly.
  17. Can never see too many builds of this truck! I think I would have given up on the decals and just sourced new ones. Good to see you able to save them.
  18. That chassis doesn't look strong enough to handle the power of a race engine. Engineering sure was different back in the day!
  19. I've been into a lot of mellower, instrumental music lately. Leech are my newest discovery. I don't know what "post rock" is supposed to be, in terms of genre, but that's apparently what this is. And I really dig it.
  20. Apocalyptica are really, really good. For those who are unaware, they got their start by being a Metallica cover band. Metallica on strings. And they have since morphed into a rather excellent "real" band.
  21. How creative can we get in terms of using other parts? For example, many years ago, the VW/Porsche dealer I worked for moved. The Toyota dealership that moved in did some renovations to the building. The literally tore down the entire building except for one wall, about 30ft x 10ft. But because they retained some of the original structure, it was considered a renovation and not a new build. Major advantage in terms of zoning, taxes, permits, etc. Using the same thought process, if I picked a kit and then replaced everything except for say the driveshaft, would that count? Seriously though, I'd probably just stop building if I was limited to only one. For me, that would take the fun out of the hobby, and if I'm not having fun, then what's the point?
  22. Just saw this one. Loved the truck, now it's even better with the trailer! If you wish, I can edit the thread title for you, but I think the trailer is good enough to deserve it's own thread. Excellent work!
  23. Yeah, I have a couple of boxes full of parts for these trucks. I know they're in there, because the ziploc bag that I put the parts in is open and empty in one of the boxes!
