  1. I was surprised at how deep they set them. I believe our frost line is somewhere between 36-48".
  2. Yes, have to get below the frost line. Model area is staying in the basement of my house, but I may move my paint booth out into the garage eventually. Second floor will be for storage, so I can get some of the junk out of the house. This building is mainly so I have a place to store/work on my cars.
  3. This is how I usually do it (not that I am an expert at it) and I was told that you can use a wash on it so that it blends together a little better.
  4. This is a pole building. Building is supported by posts about 6 feet in the ground. Concrete floor is poured after the building is up. I am getting a 6" deep slab throughout.
  5. Garage is a little further along. I was finally able to speak with the Amish contractor who is going to do the concrete slab. Had to mail him a letter with my contact numbers and best times to reach me. I found that having to slow down and wait for a reply (instead of getting frustrated because I didn't get instant gratification) to be refreshing.
  6. Just remember, a lot of wonderful models were built long before the internet became easily available. Where there is a will, there is a way. It is a shame that a lot of information is rendered nearly useless because the accompanying photos are no longer available.
  7. No message there, you are just looking to stir up trouble.
  8. I don't think this is a fair assumption to make. There are folks that are on a very fixed income and a free service that is offered by a company is a very nice thing to take advantage of. To call folks tightwads and cheap screws is not fair. The free account holders were not the problem. It is the folks that run ad blockers that finally took away the revenue stream that was keeping PB running as it was. Same problem exists here. How many of you are running ad blockers while on this site? That is money the Gregg could use to keep offering this site for free or putting towards the magazine. Should we call all of those folks names as well? How angry will you be if this site starts charging for use?
  9. Just a reminder: Publicly selling or offering for sale is not allowed on this site. I do not think that is what happened in this case. Greg - I don't think everyone will get what the photo implies and I don't think it applies here. I have been watching this thread since it was first posted (and the one in the Trading Post where he mentions the kits he is looking for in trade).

I like it! I think you just helped me decide what the next kit to come out of the stash will be.
  11. It is the name of a permanent marker that comes in various colors and tip sizes.
  12. I can see all the photos. Not sure what the problem could be. I will bring this to Dave's attention, maybe he has some ideas about what could be causing it.
  13. I am still seeing photos. Can you be more specific, are you not seeing any photos at all or is it just in certain posts?
  14. It's the high heel work boots that will be hard to disguise.
  15. HaHa. That is from the movie Top Secret starring Val Kilmer.
  16. The post I saw did specifically mention the enamel paints, so maybe the Metalizers will survive.
  17. They responded on Facebook saying it was discontinued because of lack of support from the marketplace.
  18. Yes. They are from Keith Marks.
  19. Pintos and Vegas are the reason my wife doesn't like the idea of me wanting to go drag racing. She thinks all cars are as jittery as they are going down the track.
  20. This has been on my bench for awhile now. Slowly getting it built. Another OOB build. Snapped a photo today, right after I finished the BMF. First time using Keith Marks decals. I like them, but they are a bit susceptible to scratching so you have to take it slow.
  21. I have a habit of saving containers. I tell my wife that I am sure I can put model parts in them (at some point).

If start from the beginning of the thread you will see that JC chose the "alternate" color for the car, based on his reference photos.
  23. That is on Dave's long list of items to repair. I believe he has to do it after the software update, which is slated for sometime in the near future.
  24. Before I got back into building models, I would say "car" or "truck".
  25. This has been many, many, many years in the making. Finally starting to take shape.
