  1. Nicely done Jim!
  2. I spent the weekend and got about half of his model photos downloaded directly from Photobucket. I will work on getting the rest this week.
  3. Calling this one done! Finished photos in Under Glass section. Thanks for following along.
  4. This was a fun build. Went together pretty well, only had trouble with the transfer, windshield and side mirrors. The transfer case need a good amount of material trimmed away so that it would clear the interior tub when installed. The windshield fit very snug in the body and wanted to pop out while the glue was drying, tape helped a little, but I should have separated the side glass from the windshield. Side mirrors were just a bit fidley and I did not notice that they were not perfectly square until it was too late. I may try to fix them later. Overall, I am happy with this one.
  5. It's nice to have fun, but please remember this is a family oriented site.
  6. That turned into a sweet deal!
  7. I just poked around a bit and don't see a way to change the default. Looks like you have to change every time you wish to use it. I will keep looking around. You can also type your responses in a program like MS Word and then copy them here.
  8. Thanks for the kind words guys. I am happy how this one is turning out. I have left off some of the detailing that should be done, like the rubber gaskets around the windows. I tend to mess that up pretty well, so I purposely didn't try them on this one. I may try to fully detail the other one I have. Body is now on the chassis.
  9. I have found that if I do not shake it well before I use it, the finish is more silver than chrome. I get good results and it is often hard to tell where I have touched up chrome pieces (as long as I have shaken the pen well).
  10. There is still a source button, first one on the left. I have never used these buttons, so I do not know if that does what you are asking about.
  11. No. It looks like the links were broken somehow.
  12. I used Zing Embossing Powder. Can get it online or at places like Hobby Lobby & Michael's. If you look at the photo of the painted body, you can see a few jars on the shelf.
  13. John Wick 2!
  14. Had to stay around the house today waiting for a phone call (2 clubs had meetings today that I could have gone to), so I finished painting the body today. Got a bit of over spray on the front that I am hoping I can touch up or hide with the bumper. I will give it a week before I detail and clear it.
  15. Glad that things are falling in place for you Russ.
  16. Decided to paint the interior the same as the secondary color of the body, Tamiya Pearl Light Blue. Mainly did this because I really need to use some of the paints that I already have. If I get some time this weekend, I hope the finish painting the body.

    '70 Cuda T/A

I did a quick Google search for Swede Savage's 'Cuda and found this video of the restored car. The poster did a complete walk around of the car and very quickly put the camera under the rear of the car. I think I saw a bolt heads/nuts on the rear. Could be that it did have a Dana. Checks the rear at about 1:13. https://youtu.be/NHXrGEO4GWM
  18. Of course, now that I read my post I really meant to type horizontal. I blame the paint fumes
  19. Takes up less space and cost less than the fingernail polish stands that I use. Any issues with storing the paint jars nearly vertical?
  20. If you use enamel, they better already be mounted and installed on the car. You will never be able to touch them again.
  21. You could pick a shade of red you like and finish it off with dullcote. Maybe leave a bit of texture in the color coat.
  22. That glue is going to be a more permanent solution. I like the wire tie idea. This allows you to easily remove it from the case later if you want to take it to a show or club meeting. I would also worry about the glue having an adverse reaction to the tires or the case.
  23. I do too, but it can get expensive. I always get at least 2 bottles when I order a color. Better to have a little left over than to come up just a little short. Remember that you have to plan ahead when using some of the automotive paint suppliers. It can take 4-6 weeks to get sometimes.
  24. I like that better than the poorly chopped Chevelle we trashed a while ago. All those blown Chevys have to go in something. Actually, I wonder what that started out as.
  25. I have had the same problem with automotive paint and Tamiya primer. Now whenever I use automotive paint, I prime with Duplicolor primer from the auto parts store.
