  1. Going like a herd of turtles.... dropped to page 3. ? Only because I'm getting one of my vintage coke coolers made for pictures, thought I better paint something. First time I have used the Tamiya primer, think I like it! Need to touch up with some sandpaper before the color is painted. Since the cooler handle is aluminum, made sense to paint the engine and other parts for this project. Also used Alclad stainless steel on the brake disks, and chrome on the wipers and mirror. Instructions say the headers should be rust, I mixed steel with just a drop of brown.
  2. Sorry, I missed this! I'm working on making a bunch at the moment, have correct decals, building one and taking pictures so I can write up a killer instruction sheet. Only reason I saw this, thought I had started a topic but couldn't find it. This is assembled, two parts. ? Thanks for finding and posting my topic!
  3. I have the Revell DB4, so can say I've never seen one of these. Looks AWESOME!
  4. My biggest pet peeve, not everyone builds the same subjects I like, and not to the same extremely perfect high standards that I so easily and perfectly execute, what's everybody's problem? ? Seriously, this is such a subjective topic, fun to read what we have to deal with, much like life. Without getting into bashing certain types of ..... uh ..... vehicles, what fun is that? When I tell someone that I build models, they say "oh I built some when I was a kid" which implies something like I haven't grown up? ?
  5. I know about that source. The sizes don't get bigger than what, 2mm? Also it's brass, what's the point for s.s. exhaust tips if I have to paint, might as well use plastic. Their connectors are a great idea, for making roll cages. Thanks. Think the wall thickness is still too much, for me. But I will scout around. Ok thanks. What's with the error? NOW I KNOW! Thank you. Did not see this source when I did a search. They have prices, and short lengths, will pursue. My computer says it's Not Secure, did hit that earlier, 30" & 60" lengths. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR HELPING OUT! *EDIT* Had all your comments quoted, let's see if this works.
  6. I know about K&S, but the selection is very limited. I see numerous online sources for stainless steel hypodermic type of tubing. Anyone have a good source that does small orders? I'm looking for +-1mm and/or 1/16" to maybe 5mm and/or 3/16" diameter, very thin wall, don't know what grade. It would be nice if they offered variety packs. I see some have 5' lengths, a bit long. Primary use would be exhaust tips. Wanted to ask before I rolled the dice......
  7. You're no help. ? Appreciate the input. I'm sure we will be seeing many projects.
  8. If you wanted to build the cars featured in the film Ford vs. Ferrari, what are the suitable kits? I understand the Ferrari 330 P4 is incorrect for the year depicted, and that's the only kit in my stash that could qualify. ? I know there is a variety of GT40 kits available, help us out with that choice. The Squire woodie would certainly qualify. Plenty of Shelby Cobras and the Daytona Coupe, my question is, was the 427 developed yet? I've already built the black sheep IMC J-car, not correctly depicted in the movie. Thought it would be fun to plot a future project.
  9. Saw it this afternoon! Wife actually liked it too, was asking me questions about who and what afterwards. My mom saw it a few days ago, liked it. It appealed to "normal" people, which will make it survive as a good movie, expect some awards. The street scene when Shelby got in the 356 and did the u-turn, I noticed a Ford pickup that was modern street rod stance, but otherwise seeing period cars was cool. I would challenge the case of the Mercedes 190 sedan parked at the Ferrari factory, I grew up with one (picture), would have thought an Alfa Romeo sedan would be correct. Seeing the 275GTB and the California was fun. I didn't know race cars had speedometers. Otherwise don't have a reason to be critical. GO SEE IT!
  10. My dad had a '71 (first year of this style?), so I have a connection with these. I was a teen, thought the curved taillights were so modern. Look forward to seeing it done!
  11. before White Monday
  12. Forgot what I had for dinner, the important part was desert. I scratch-built pumpkin pie using a family recipe. I make the crust too, using root beer instead of water.
  13. soaked with Everclear
  14. Very nice to see one of these getting-rare kits built. I read your blog description, where do you get felt paper? Detail Master used to have it, but that was decades ago. I have a few of these kits, the promo chassis sure needs work, good to know about the '66. You did this justice, well done!
  15. the ex-wife's party
  16. Cool beans! ? These GMC kits are becoming gold-plated, nice to see one built.
  17. Just wanted to say he has super service! I needed just wheels for my GSL Beetle, and he helped me out. He had just relocated, so was not active at the time.
  18. Very nice workmanship! A favorite subject of mine too.
  19. ? Yea, I know right? Coming back much later can be shocking. Only because I owned a '48 rolling wreck last century, this is a favorite subject. I've thought of doing a dually, but also as a "club cab". I'll be watching, cheering you to the finish line!
  20. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
