  1. Because I don't care to get one? Doesn't take much more time, if one knows, and had saved a link, to copy/paste as a courtesy. Rumor or fact?
  2. because snow drifts
  3. My first thought too. If it's supposed to be a "promo" with no damage sitting on a shelf with other promos, then it's junk. But for building a model, it will require skill to do correctly. I was also wondering if any resin casters would reproduce this if they got it.
  4. That is very well done! I like the little fan on the dash.
  5. Figures, just days after I bought this, being tempted. Picture for reference of the fender emblem. The first trip home! by Kurt Womack, on Flickr
  6. Question: I see a 1968 Chevrolet pickup promo for sale, $110 asking price. It has a nasty crack in a bed side, missing fender logos and gas cap (I can make a gas cap). I saw a nice one for $185 at a model show. Would the AMT bed fit ok on this? Is the price out of line?
  7. from police spotlight
  8. Let's see some proof that this is getting re-issued, to back up the reason for this post. I learned about a model stash that could be bought, the guy had a list, I went through it and saw this kit and thought "huh, never heard of that, what is it going for?" I was shocked, but that was 'asking' price.
  9. Cool subject! Came out nice for a resin handmade model. I noticed the tiny pins that hold the glass on.
  10. It sure is, compared to so many I saw, yikes! LOL How many bottles of Dullcoat would it take? ~raz~ I ordered a bunch of parts from LMC today. When a friend needed the money and sold his '69 to me, at first I didn't care for it, but it grew on me. But I really like the first generation of this series the best. Thanks for saying that. I've thought about starting a thread, 'My Scrounged Parts Stash', for us to show off our specialized hoarding abilities. I have one Sucrets box stuffed with springs, another with electronic parts, another..... Don't mind me, just testing out how to post pictures from Flickr. The first trip home! by Kurt Womack, on Flickr I made this custom gas pedal yesterday, from my metal and bolts stash. LOL First parts by Kurt Womack, on Flickr
  11. That's super dooper man! Looks perfectly done.
  12. Some people have way too much fun. Wonder if he actually builds models?
  13. Tell me if you see any '67-'68 Chevy pickups. Only because I have a full-scale one now. LOL
  14. No worries, too late anyway. LOL I'm just about done, just have the important ski rack to fabricate. Then I can weather with the icy sludge to hide the flaws. But my obsession has been derailed by this full-sized '68 Chevy pickup, which needs lots of attention to get dialed in. I'm resisting looking for a kit of a '68, that money could be spent on a few critical parts.
  15. Good thing I got this far, picked up another project today.
  16. I tried, but when it came to filling in the postal codes, prefecture was the one that screwed me up. I tried emailing him, but no luck. Oh yea, back to the Miura, that is shaping up really nice! Flocking is something I need to learn.
  17. for refrigerator paint
  18. I built that Revell Golf, and can attest to the lousy engine mounting! You did a fine job with this! These pickups are popular for auto crossing because of less weight back there.
  19. Done with the other ski bindings, and boots! Since you can't see the other pair except for the tips, I chose to use these vintage bindings just because. I didn't go too crazy making them exact, but made basic shapes, using two different aluminum plate material, newspaper printing plate (bends without breaking) and roof flashing (thicker and shinier). The ski boots got painted, and thread added which will need to be wet with diluted white glue when placed in the car, so they lay the heck down. So cool having the internet for doing research. Next big thing is the rack.
  20. LOL I'm kind of going overboard documenting this project (thanks to MCM allowing so many pictures to be downloaded). When I get a wild hair, I don't mess around being obsessed. Thank you for looking.
