  1. In olden times I would carve wooden forms or make them from Bondo for windshields or tops. Of course that doesn't solve the replication of existing parts. It's past my knap time.
  2. Thanks for the photos Tim. I got a set of 16" but have not decided where to use them yet.
  3. Looking real good Tim.
  4. I had not seen one of these before so thanks for sharing. The blacked-out windows are understandable for low volume production but are disappointing to me. I did check on eBay for Mondo Motors and they have some interesting diecasts, especially Lambos and modern Maseratis.
  5. Well done! I like your leather look.
  6. Like the others I have the kit and started it and gave up. You did a good looking job with yours though.
  7. Looking good Bruce. Congratulations.
  8. Very well done on this vintage kit.
  9. I agree with Ken on the dental tools. I inherited a bundle of dental tools from my father-in-law and they come in very handy.
  10. Helmut, you called it cute and that was my first impression too. My second thought was how disappointed I am with Hachette for not distributing these models more broadly. Thank you very much for sharing.
  11. I like it a lot. Got one in the stash and yours is inspiration.
  12. Very well done build as we have come to expect.
  13. Wishing you well on your new project.
  14. I do have the Tamiya 2mm tape for curves and tried a test run and it seems to work pretty well. I also tired the 3M Fine Line tape 218 and it did not take to the curves as well I thought so once the white body color is dry I'll use the tape for curves and see how that goes. Thanks for your input.
  15. SAICO also makes Morris Minors but in 1/26 scale so they seem quite small. I bought a resin van not knowing it was a SAICO repop but never finished it.
  16. I agree with you Devon. You can make out the orange stripe with black border.
  17. Trying again to paint and mask and paint the front bonnet and top of door sides. Bought a fresh jug of the purple Super Clean and took the rest of the paint off. Got out the scribe to clean out the panel lines. I am using the newly found clear front piece. Will paint the body parts with Tamiya X-2 white. Using the narrow Tamiya tape again except this time seal the mask edge with X-22 clear before painting the front panel with a 50-50 mix of X-14 and X-4 blue with my Badger 200. Forgot the Tamiya fine white primer to get a consistent base color with the tail. Let me know if you see any flaws with this plan.
  18. Very interesting! I just checked mine and it is LHD so must have come from France. I really love it. Thanks for posting yours.
  19. Just 2 of the GTP J7s. The extra front end for the MPC was a surprise and I still don't know where it came from.
  20. Splash! That was the sound of the nose and mid-section body going in the brake fluid pond. Then totally without explanation this showed up in a parts box.
  21. Yup, a C-47 alright. I logged some miles in one when pulling courier duty in the "60s.
  22. Just a mock up thus the panel gaps. I am not happy with the masking and the blue is too dark so debating whether to strip and repaint. My friend Scott Kercher taught me "if you can see it then others will too."
  23. Very well done. We owned a 1971 and I think it was my wife's favorite car.
