  1. AMT '37 Chevy has a blown BBC, so-so quality. The Revell '68 Vette Roadster has a really nice one. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
  2. That pretty darned brilliant. Wish I'd thought of it. Great work.
  3. I'm just catching up on this. A lot of just terrific work. Very impressive.
  4. Terrific work! I like it a lot.
  5. Terrific model. I'm so torn on the Matador as a custom. SO much was done right, that flows so well, until l get to the headlights and grill and I go UGH. It's like a beautiful woman with bad teeth.
  6. Whoa. That is something I would build. very inspiring. The AMT Piranha drag car and any Indy racer might be a good start for something like this. I do enjoy coming back to this thread.
  7. A small block? That's disappointing. 409's were on their way out in '65 but they are still a good looking engine.
  8. Heresy. I dig it. That digital pic would have inspired me too. I've got one of the Johan Mercedes roadsters and I've been super tempted to do something similar.
  9. Lately it's been inspiration from 1:1 hot rods and trucks and what not. Instagram and Tumblr are great downtime perusal material when you have a few minutes here and there. My last five? completions have been these sort of builds. "Hey, that's really cool and different. Hey! I can do that with this kit!" Then I'm off and running.
  10. Terrific stuff. How did the jewelry pliers work out?
  11. I don't usually bring up my older posts but I was able to find and contact the builder/owner of the 1:1 that inspired the model, via Instagram. He was very impressed. It was a good feeling.
  12. Excellent idea. I put a Revell Chevelle chassis under an AMT '51 Chevy and with very few mods it fit like a champ. I'll be following yours.
  13. Looking good. BTW, there's no need to start a new thread when you have an update, just add it to your original thread. The post will pop the thread to the top of the unread list. Most likely when the moderators see your posts, they will combine them for you.
  14. Very impressive work. I like it quite a lot. Something else that jumps out at me, is the use of the kit instructions as a background. It's very effective at it. Great contrast. That's pretty genius, and I'm very likely to unapologetically steal the idea. ?
  15. My son turned me on to this one today. Phil Collin's In the Air Tonight by State of Mine. It's pretty faithful ....................... just rougher. I also heard their cover of Garth Brooks' The Thunder Rolls. Pretty good.
  16. Great stuff guys. A few of these I'll have to look up.
  17. I know we all have one. At least one. That song that makes you want to just put the hammer down. Ones that come to mind for me are .. She Sells Sanctuary by the Cult One Vision by Queen
  18. As I recall hearing back in the day, it was due to bumper mounting bolts that were over-long from the factory and they could puncture the gas tank when hit back there. I'm not positive if its true, but it sounds likely. I have seen a side pipe in scale that looks similar to that one, but I can't place it. Likely a C3 Corvette kit. I'll be watching this one.
  19. I've always thought that the Delorean had a great profile. I'll be following along.
  20. Paul, I'd like to thank you for offering a master class on how to build this old favorite. I plan on getting this kit again when they are re-released, hopefully soon! I will be referring back to this excellent tutorial. Outstanding work sir!
  21. I like this a lot. Outstanding work.
  22. YES! I'm soo happy about this release. I've been trying to find a decent kit for a while now, with no luck. Yes, this kit is a bit dated and rough. But it was a favorite when I was a kid and I had both versions sitting on my dresser in 1987. One with the flip hood glued open and the other with the hood glued closed. ? I'm a bit better at this stuff now than I was then and I'm pretty certain I can make something out of it that will make me smile. @Casey thanks for the good news! You made my day. As for the parts issues, I have plenty of old Monogram kits including the aforementioned '30 Phaeton that might round out the options for me.
  23. If it were me, I'd pick up the AMT '70 Coronet Pro-street. It's got everything you need. But, to answer your question, yes, a four link and coil overs is the way to go here.
  24. Man I like it! Lookin' good Misha.
